Whitner and Reid formed a very good S tandem last year...and with Eric destined to improve considerably his 2nd season, I'd love to see that duo remain intact. ER gives Whitner a lot of credit for his development...and you just don't replace Donte's leadership skills that easily. After Boldin, I hope Whitner's the next to sign an extension.

Bumping this thread back up. What do people think is the drop off between Jason Verrett and LaMarcus Joyner? I like the combo of the best DE available in the first and taking Joyner in the second to short up the front and back end of the defense.
