Trade or Not to Trade. Impact Players that start or Backups with Potential?

Trade or Not to Trade. Impact Players that start or Backups with Potential?

because our incredibly dense core group is going into FA in the next 3 years it would be best to go after immediate impact players. Save cap space by sacrificing just 2-3 players and then drafting according to prepare for the likely impending FAs of the next few years.

I agree with this. Not sure they have to trade 5 picks to do it though.
What is the trade value of that 30th pick? Is there a team that would like to jump back into the first at that spot?

Considering the amount of first round talent that could and should be available in the second round, will there be that much of a difference between who we pick at 30 verses who's drafted in the late 30s/high 40s plus an extra third of fourth round pick.

There is also the potential of picking up 2015 picks with trades.

don't fprget we need a middle linebacker with bowmans injury

After seeing Wilhoite fill in for Willis, I'm pretty confident in his abilities. Some players are good but don't get much game experience so they don't develop as quick as they probably could. They get to adjust, get comfortable and improve. Confidence is key.

Given all we know about this team and our current questionable drafts recently, I ask this question?

Trade or Not to Trade. Impact Players that start or Backups with Potential?

What would you rather see the team do?

2 Impact Starters that start from Day 1 or rookies that ride the pine with Potential?
Draft. The problem isn't one of rookies versus proven vets that are impact players. Remove the cap and it might be a good move.

With the cap we have no choice. We need cap friendly rookies big time. We can't afford to keep all the players we already have. With this draft we have an opportunity to bring in talent that is cap friendly and can keep us competing for titles for years. If we traded for impact players we would have to let a couple of our own impact players go just to make the cap room. Our entire draft of 12 players will cost us less than 1 impact player vet would.
