David Yankey OG Stanford

One of the bright offensive line talents in the conference...preseason candidate for the Outland Trophy...incumbent at left guard plus the versatility to play left tackle...14-game starter last year, 13-game starter as a sophomore and saw the field as a true freshman in 2010.

The Niners could use a WR or slot CB without a doubt, but Baalke might want to keep his amazing offensive line as strong as possible. If the Niners don't extend Iupati, Yankey would have to be considered as a perfect replacement for him in the Niners offense.

This, also has versatility to play tackle. I think we have a need at corner and receiver, but if Iupati isn't resigned, guard becomes possibly our biggest need and Yankey would be the best fit in the first round. Might have to trade up though

With what happened at receiver this year, you'd have to have a riot squad prepared if they draft a guard in the first round. Not to say that it isn't a position we should address. We should, but that early?

Baalke could pull a Brian Sabean. The Giants biggest strength is in their pitching staff, so they re-signed Lincecum, Lopez and then Hudson before they went out and signed a left fielder in Morse. The Niners biggest strength is their offensive line, so he may need or want to replace Iupati moving forward. No one better than Yankey who is familiar with the system.
He playz for stanford so fat chance at us drafting him ...lol
That actually makes sense. So it will be interesting to see what Baalke does regarding Iupati and what he does for extending Harbaugh, and with Crabtree, Kaep, Boldin, and A. Smith. All of these decisions will impact the draft. But Yankey would definitely have a place in the Oline if Iupati is not re-signed.

Hard to explain Kenan Allen from SD. We use more multiple lineman looks than anyone. WR can be found in plenty of places in the draft if we sign bold in and keep crabtree
Watched highlights of him. Also watched lots of Stanford this year. Guy is going to be very solid. Easily replaces iupati in two years if needed.
