No, but tanking for him might be a bit foolish.

Giants certainly look like they are giving it their best to be able to draft him.

Is this guy really trying to skate through the season just to make it to the draft healthy? Spurrier's comments are a little strange.

Bowers had a degenerative knee condition that caused him to slide, but he was a beast the year he came out. He led the nation in sacks and tackles for loss, and he was named ACC DPOY, a consensus first team All-American, and the Nagurski Trophy winner.
Since then, he has had trouble with the knee and a ruptured Achilles, but he was money his junior (final) year at Clemson. Clowney is a mouthy piece of trash who spent all offseason doing whatever the hell he wanted instead of training like a #1 pick.

I'd still draft him at 32 or package a couple of picks to get him.

More and more speculation that he's just trying to protect his body for the Draft.
Might work, might blow up in his face. If he gets the reputation that he's not a team player, his stock might drop.
Plus, he can just as easily have a career ending injury in the Pros as in College. With the limits on Rookie salaries now, he has to survive to a second contract to make serious money.. If he is perceived as an "Attitude" problem and drops, then gets injured before the second contract.....

I would love to see him drop into the mid-teens and we trade up and get him.
