8 San Francisco (from Buffalo)Tavon Austin WR West Virginia San Francisco gets the 8th pick for the 31st, 61st 74th, and 128th picks and 2nd rounder in 2014.
I like Austin more than most, but that is too much to give up.
I agree with you, but this is crazy to think about: If the 49ers DID decide to do something drastic like that, we would still have one pick in each of the first five rounds (and five more in the last two).
For a WR? f**k that. Austin is one of the most over hyped WR's to come out in years. I just dont understand it. Unless its for a proven top 5 WR i would never give up that kind of value.
He may end up great, or he may end up a total bust. But for christ sakes he is 5-8 175 pounds. The kids #'s are undeniable, but his size worries the s**t out or me. He takes one hit like that hit VD took this season and hes gonna get broke in half.
I don't think we need to trade up that far to get Austin. Plus I don't think they trade away any picks next year, espically early picks. In this situation, there were 4-5 players I would have rather taken anyways.
