Patrick Willis
Joe Staley
Anthony Davis
Mike Iupati
Aldon Smith
Culliver
LMJ
Frank Gore....looks like we've been doing better over the past 7-8 years
Oooh Manny Lawson.
Hate to break it to you but this is why the worst team picks first and the best team picks last.

We are a good team because of a bunch of high first rounder's. (Willis, Aldon, VD, Iupati ,Davis, Wittner, J. Smith, Crabtree, Carlos Rogers, Alex Smith, Tedd Ginn, and I may be missing a few.

This is also why when a team grabs a good player in the second round and beyond GM's are thought to be genius'!

In other words; no real surprise here...

Since picks 31 and 34 are so close together, the niners could drop dack 2-6 picks behind number 34 and still get some of the players they targeted inthat area and possibly get either a second or third.

Or they could move up if one of the players they wouldn't mind having drops for some unforeseen reason to say where the bengals are selecting which would cost us our original 1st and third rounder.
No Manny Lawson? He was decent for us.
Lot of misses at the end of round 1 but we did hit with a trade to get Joe Staley at 28 but gave up a 1st to the Pats the following year. Ended up being the 10th pick and they got Jerod Mayo so it worked out for both teams. Staley has been worth the 10th overall pick. Crazy enough we also gave up a 4th which the Pats traded for Moss who had 23 td's that year (07). I'd say it worked out for both.

Pretty harsh assessment. It looks like anyone who did not make a pro-bowl was a "flop".

1990 25th Dexter Carter - flop -- Was a serviceable player, similar to Ted Ginn.
1991 25th Ted Washington - flop with us later turned out good -- A pretty good player with us too. He got better every year. We replaced him with BY 5 days after we traded him. He continued to improve into a pro-bowl nose guard.
1992 18th Dana Hall - Wasn't great, but was a starter for several years. I think he started on multiple teams in the league.
1993 26th Dana Stubblefield - great player
1997 26th Jim Druckenmiller - epic flop -- Mariucci couln't spot a quarterback if he was locked in the Hall-of-Fame.
1998 28th RW McQuarters - flop -- Not a bad player. A good return man. We lost him in free agency to the Bears. Not a Pro-Bowler, but not a bad player either.
1999 24th Reggie McGrew - epic flop
2002 27th Mike Rumph - flop -- Was a solid starter for many years.
2003 26th Kwame Harris - epic flop -- He was a really bad pass blocker, but he was still good enough to start for us. "Epic flop" puts him in the same category as players who never started for us.
2004 31st Rashaun Woods - epic flop
2005 22nd Manny Lawson - flop -- Not only was he not a flop, but he was a good player. He can't rush the quarterback, but does everything else well.
2007 28th Joe Staley - good pick
2008 29th Kentwan Balmer - epic flop
2012 30th AJ Jenkins - its early but it dont look good

This late round draft history, looks to me about average, at worst.
Manny Lawson Was a Flop for us otherwise he'd still be on this roster and we wouldn't have had to draft Aldon Smith. Lawson was drafted to rush the Qb and he failed miserably to supply the 49ers a pass rush in the 4 yes 4 years he was on the field.

just because a player is good enough on a bad team doesn't make them good players

I'd be stoked if this happened!
