We lost my boy Dashon Goldson and to be honest I feel like this draft is so rich and deep with safety talent not only his replacement can be found but an upgrade over Whitner can as well! If we took 2 safeties this draft which 2 would be the most dangerous ball-hawking Hard Hitting Pair!

Who knows this could be like 1981 where we draft 2 or 3 starters.

If you discount whether it fits into the order of our draft then :
1) Eric Reid
2) Jonathan Cyprien
But, if I could go back in time, this would be my ultimate safety duo :
1) Dashon Goldson
2) Eric Reid
Could you imagine that ?! Wow.
Another option is to get Eric Reid and David Amerson, then figure out later whether you want to play Amerson as a safety.

I loved Goldson. He's been one of my favorite players. Wish he could have stayed for less...but, u know what...everything happens for a reason. Maybe we can get cyprien, that would be awesome...or matt elam. Both of those guys are great players, and playmakers. We need a playmaker to fill goldsons spot.

Sorry, but Goldson wasn't worth $8 million a year. The Niners could almost pay for a regular 7 pick draft class with the same money.

My thoughts... we will draft a FS high who will probably be the starter. We have this year's draft or next year's draft to get Whitner's replacement. Just don't see him being back after next year. I wouldn't be surprised if we drafted Whitner's replacement this year since it's such a deep SS class but don't see him getting cut in favor of a rookie. The player would sit and learn for a year. I also don't see the answer to the FS or SS spot on the roster. This year or next I am fine with it but I would address FS, DE and TE before SS.

unfortunately u r right , we will draft FS , and I am saying this only coz my dream draft was to get 2 DL first. and since we ll draft safety , i say.. go all in and get SS too coz whitner sometimes can drive u crazy.. I think we should be really aggressive, get 2 DL or 2 safeties. and fix the defense. and the bad thing is, we dont know what we have in the back up safeties , especially T. Robinson. . I hope we get lucky with whatever decision they make. and for some reason I think they will wait to draft DL , but I hope B. Williams drops a lil bit , and we can have him late in the second.. IT will be like dream come true if we get Cyprien, Reid and then Williams ( even if we have to trade up a lil bit....

Well, Anthony Davis isn't exactly what you might call cheap neither at $7 mil a year.
Besides, my initial plan was to cut Whitner and Rogers to help pay for Dashon then draft another safety and corner.
