Here is a quick mock that sees us pick 4 times in round 2.... I've got to say, this would be the best draft ever.
Trades:
Pick 31 to the Bills for pick 41 and a future 2nd rounder.
Picks 93 and 128 to the Bears for pick 50.
Pick 34:
Eric Reid, FS/SS 6'1" 213 lbs
Reid should be a popular pick with webzoners. He has the coverage skills and physicality to play either FS or SS. He could compete with Trenton Robinson for the starting FS spot in 2013, then take over for Whitner in 2014.
Pick 41:
Tank Carradine, DE 6'4" 276 lbs
One of the best pass rushers in the draft falls to pick 41 for injury concerns. He could recover and learn the 5-technique behind Justin Smith and then take over in 2014. He's very talented and would greatly improve the pass rush from our DL when healthy.
Pick 50:
Da'Rick Rogers, WR 6'3" 217 lbs
The most talented WR in this draft. Off-the-field issues will get worked out by an outstanding coaching staff and strong veteran leadership. He will assume the Randy Moss role in 2013 and improve our red-zone offense. Every-down starter in 2014 when Boldin is gone.
Pick 61:
B.W. Webb, CB 5'10" 184 lbs
A bit of a supprise pick here, Webb is one of the better slot CBs in this draft. He is a small school guy and hasn't faced a lot of top competition. But he has amazing quickness and has a very high ceiling. My gut tells me he is highly valued by our FO and would be a long term answer to Percy Harvin, and replacement for Carlos Rogers.
That's it for round 2, but if that played out I'd do this at the next pick:
Pick 74:
Brandon Williams, DT 6'1" 335 lbs
Our replacement for Sopoaga, but with better quickness and more interior pass rushing ability. Williams is a beast.
