28 P. San Francisco 49ers: Margus Hunt, DE, SMU, Senior: Since defensive end Justin Smith was injured, the 49ers defense has struggled greatly, so they need to find a young defensive lineman to groom as his replacement. Hunt is an incredible athlete with great length, explosiveness and strength who could turn into a star in a season or two.

I like the thinking there but I am not sure about him, kind of a boom or bust type pick. He had a good bowl game so that was encouraging.
Wow, Kenny Vaccaro #5 overall.
Mike Glennon 1st QB taken!

With the way Hunt is moving up and with his sky-high potential, I wouldn't be mad to see the 49ers draft him in the 1st Round. If his head is right, he could be one of the most dominating defenders in the NFL within a year or two. 6'8", 280, with a 4.6 40, 36 inch vertical and an 82 inch wingspan???

6'8" is a bit tall for a defensive linemen!

I like Hunt a lot. The big negative with him is that he will be 26 in his rookie season....ouch

I see Hunt as a lower second round pick because of his age, but didn't he block like 8 kicks too. Pretty impressive

Ya he is a very athletic and explosive player. There is a lot to like about him. Ideal situation would be to grab him in the 2nd round but it is not likely he will be available after the first 40 selections. Than again this is a VERY deep draft for defensive lineman so anything could happen......

He's going to shoot up the boards. He's a physical freak and new to the game. He flashed his dominance in his Bowl game. Come April, he might not last to the end of the 1st.

He's 26 though. Older prospects tend to fall down some draft boards

Agreed. He will probably be over drafted after his combine workouts, but He would fill a need for the Niners in a big way.
