Any future JJ Watt(S) or Justin Smith(S) in this years 2013 DE/NT draft class?

I don't know but if there is, we need to get him at any costs.

The defensive line should be priority # 1 for the front office this offseason. With Soap potentially moving on and Cowboy getting up in years, this should be a no brainer.
Here is a list of 3-4 DE prospects that may fit the bill

From the 3-4 DE standpoint, there isn't a lot of options after round 1. Barring a Julio Jones-esque trade up for Lotulelei the top options are Richardson and Floyd -- Or maybe a slimmed down Sylvester Williams(get him in the weight room and lean him out 295-305. After that it is slim pickin's if you will.

There is a lot of solid 3-4 DE's available in this draft (such as Sheldon Richardson, Johnathan Hankins, and Sharrif Floyd) but no one of Watt's or Smith's caliber. Maybe with the exception of Star Lotulelei but he's going to be a top-5 pick..

I like Purdue's Kawann Short as a possible 1st rd pick guy, along with the other top DL, Jenkins, Hankins, both Williams', Star Lotulelei is out of reach. Also Floyd and Richardson are good ones.

Kawann Short could be a stud. Has great pass rushing ability as well.

Lotulelei is not out of reach IF: we can trade alex smith along with our 1, 2,3, 4, 5, 6, 7th round draft choices. teams that might be interested include K.C., buffalo, maybe Oakland if they want to cut c palmer for cap reasons and Jax. This trade would still leave us with plenty of draft choices especially if we get a 3rd round compensatory. Might be some variants in the draft choices offered also, such as (2) third rounders instead of our second round choice. Key would be the value alex smith brings in draft class woefully short of franchise QBs. Now is it worth it? idk. how good is Lotulelei? If i knew that we could get 8 or 9 sacks a year and a huge run stuffing presence out of him, i would do it.

I do think this is very important area where our depth is shallow. The pats showed why depth is key on d-line, guys were winded. I feel for our defence to stay elite, we need to draft 2-3 guys who can make an impact for next year. I hope we get two guys in the first four rounds who play rough and tough

Just don't see it from Short. I know he has the productivity, but I see him as more of a penetrating NT in a 3-4. Just seems so big and short ranged to be a Justin heir apparent.
Sharrif Floyd is my favorite early rounder for this topic. Richardson and perhaps even Bennie Logan would be a good one as well. A mid/later rd DL that I can see as a good fit would be UCLA's Datone Jones. Also like UCLA's Cassius Marsh and Texas A&M's Spencer Nealy, but they need to get stronger to be truly effective in the pros.

Sheldon Richardson. And he's from Mizzou..
Probably won't be as good as Smith or Watt, but will be good, and will be at a spot attainable by the niners with all their acquired picks.

The more I look at it, the more I like Kapron Lewis-Moore from Notre Dame.
He has the size--6-4 306 and I believe he plays DE in a 3-4 at Notre Dame.
His career stats are up there with all possible 3-4 defensive end prospects.
He has 12 sacks, 22 tackles for a loss, 158 tackles, 22 quarterback hurries, five passes broken up and five forced fumbles.
I think his main weakness is his athletic ability. I am waiting to see how he does against Alabama and at the combine.

We won't get him at #32.
