Bandwagon Brandon Williams

Williams is listed at 6-2 328, but he really looks lanky.

edit: He weighed in a 341 at the senior bowl.

Brandon Williams could be an excellent 3-4 defensive end in the NFL.

edit: At 341 lbs, he will be a nose tackle.

He has 8.5 sacks, 16.5 tackles for a loss, and 68 tackles.

His summer job would just make me sick. If he can do that, he is one tough dude.

His eyes remind me of Justin Smith.

I would easily use a 4th, maybe even a 3rd, round pick on him.

Check on the video on the link.

What exactly do you mean by "his eyes remind me of Justin Smith"?

Good question.

Not sure if I can explain that rationally.

Justin Smith's eyes seem to radiate a stone cold intensity.

In the video, Brandon Williams eyes seemed to radiate a similar intensity.

Thanks for the reminder.

So are you saying you've seen him actually play? Or are you saying you watched a 2 minute video and his eyes remind you of Justin's? Cause I watched that video and he looked like Chilo Rachal to me (not saying he plays anywhere near as badly as Chilo). Just wondering where you get this feeling from?

I have never seen him play.
I have only seen his eyes in that video.

Ok, my bandwagon is going nowhere.

But, I still like the guy.

He has been invited to the Senior Bowl.

He was voted the Division II National Defensive Player of the Year Senior Bowl

Williams has done relatively well at the senior bowl.

He has worked himself into consideration in the 3rd, maybe 2nd, round.

I am still looking for people to join the band wagon.
My limited reading of the senior bowl reports is that Williams is doing well in the practices. So a lot will be decided by what Baalke does with Sop, RJF, Iam Williams. If they feel that they need new blood then Williams might be our man.
Good guy to target in early 3rd round, he's definitely dispelled concerns about his ability to compete at a higher level.

I think that he has done much more than dispel concerns about his ability to compete.

"After shining during Senior Bowl week, Missouri Southern DT Brandon Williams is reportedly being discussed as a potential second-round pick."

"Ex-NFL scout Daniel Jeremiah cited Williams' "surprisingly nimble footwork" as a selling point for the massive, 6-foot-2, 341-pound small-school prospect. It's always a big plus when big fellas can move well at their maximum weight. Williams' college coach obviously has a horse in the race, but he's publicly compared the defensive tackle to Seahawks Hall of Famer Cortez Kennedy." Jan. 24 - 2:40 pm et

MOBILE— "Scouts at the Senior Bowl gathered around Brandon Williams following Wednesday's morning practice. They found themselves asking: Who is this kid from Missouri Southern that couldn't be blocked?"

"Following practice, scouts flocked to Brandon Williams to ask the requisite questions: Did you miss any games? Do you have any arrests? Were you a team captain? The answers were no, no, yes."

What is the strength of your game, a scout asked Brandon Williams?

"Getting off the ball. Quickness and bull-rushing," Williams said.

It's exactly what Williams did best on Wednesday. He beat offensive linemen off the ball and drove them steadily backwards with a bulldozing style of pass rush.

Bandwagon of two, four at the most, pretty dismal so far.

But, what the hades, welcome aboard.
