Someone break down Kawann Short vs Datone Jones for me. Not a CFB watcher, and their scouting reports sort of bleed together and I keep getting them confused. Both late-1st prospects at DE, it seems.

In my opinion, Glenn Dorsey fits us better as a 3-4 DE, not at NT. We could use him in a similar role to how used Ricky Jean-Francois. Put him in a DE rotation, then kick him inside to DT in 3rd down passing situations. I forsee the 49ers drafting a DT/NT early to compete with Ian Williams. Maybe a guy like Jesse Williams (Alabama), Sylvester Williams (UNC), or Jonathan Hankins (Ohio St.)?

Georgia NT John Jenkins ranks as the 25th overall prospect in the 2013 NFL Draft, according to Scouts Inc.
Jenkins fits in Scouts Inc.'s fourth tier, with the designation reading that "these prospects have the tools to be good value picks in the late-first round." The massive Georgia defensive lineman earned a grade of 90 and was listed in the same tier as Sylvester Williams.

Scout dropped the ball on this one. He's not going to be able to bowling ball his way into the backfield in the pros. He also can't last a 2 qtrs. Terrance Cody 2.0 except Cody had better college production.

In two years, Jose played in only 17 games.
He had a total of 11 tackles, with 0.5 tackle for a loss.

I think the big difference between the 2, in at least everything I've read, is that with Short, his motor runs hot and cold, whereas those concerns were never raised with Jones. I think Short might be better inside than Jones but Jones has the edge in the speed rush department. I'd be totally happy with either one. To me, they are sort of like Ray McDonald clones...I don't think either are going to get you guady sack numbers, but like Ray Mac, I think they'll get a lot of QB pressures and be generally disruptive, and have the ability to line up at 3-4 base end, but then kick inside on passing situations

Star Lotulelei absolutely killed his Pro Day. I think he may have solidified his spot in the top-5 amid his heart condition
