OTC's Big 253 Board -- April 6

Players have begun their slides and shifts and new players have emerged through impressive pro days. Headaches have been fought through and players have been shuffled to come up with the new board. Here is the next edition and updated big board with the new projections.

As stated a thousand million zillion kajillion times already by MadDog and myself, this is NOT a ranking and NOT a seven round mock. A mock outside of the first round is straight-up impossible because of the sheer volume of trades that occur. This board projects the general slot area that I believe these players will fall. It may not be the exact spot, but the closer, the better.

49ers picks have been bolded.

only the Stephen Hill pick will happen
awsome mock would love this draft if the draft fell like that
If the draft unfolded this way, I wouldn't be unhappy at all.

The only pick which I question at this point (and I know many of you Zoners will be surprised)...is the Crick pick. I once saw this guy as a Justin Smith clone....until Maddog reported the guy has very short arms and is more of a 4-3 DE... In other words, he is a good player but probably doesn't fit the Niners' scheme. (Curious what your take is on him OTC...)

Other than that however, I love this draft. The later picks have especially good value at positions of needed depth.

Nice research overall, OTC....

Cheers!

i didnt know about the short arms thing but dude is relentless he was injured last year but in 2009 and 2010 he had 17.5 total sacks

ii like him a lot
Dude what do the **'s indicate next to some of your players?? hen did Cordy Glen overtake Decastto as your top guard?

I don't think Glenn is better. I think Dallas may have Glenn higher rated than DeCastro and project them to take him there.

The ** indicate underclassmen. One star = junior, two stars = sophomore.
If Reiff goes before Trent Richardson, I'll turn my TV off and walk away.

This was my concern as well when I was skimming through the list. Do you feel Crick is a legit 3-4 DE?

Thanks again for all your hard work.

Remember when Locker and Gabbert were taken at 8 and 10 ahead of JJ Watt, and Ponder at 12 ahead of Fairley and Quinn? Things that aren't supposed to happen.. happen all the time in the draft.
Hill drops from the late teens to the 30s? Not that I would mind, but why the change in perception?

It is hard to pinpoint his falling spot. He's all over the place, but I think it is HUGELY dependent on how the top half of the draft falls. Reason being, other teams have different needs and a lot of other possible BPA's I believe ahead of Hill.

Possible landing spots for Hill range from the Jets, Chargers, Bengals, Browns, Lions, Broncos, and Texans. I think the Bears will pass on WR after the acquisition of Marshall.

Jets - Probably will look more for a pass rusher or RT.
Bengals - Probably will look more at DL (poor pass rush last year), DB, or OG.
Chargers - Is in serious need of OL help after losing several linemen. They did sign a couple receivers too.
Browns - If they take Blackmon at 4, I don't think they'll take another WR at 22.
Lions - Probably will look more at DB, RB, or OL.
Broncos - They are a bigger possibility, but they really need a DT and CB as well as OL help.
Texans - I think if Hill and Wright are both there, they take Wright. Either way, I think the one they don't take (if they both make it that far) will go to us.

chargers also need pass rushers

they have the worst pass rus in nfl

out of those teams jets, bengals, browns and texans will take a WR

jets do need a pass rusher and a S (barron) so i dont really see them getting a WR

bengals need a G and DB more than a WR butif glenn and decastro arent there i see them getting a DB and a WR

browns - i think they go WR for sure unless they go blackmon at 4 which isnt holgrems style they go after wright or hill (both should be avaliable)

texans- will take WR really their only need at the moment
