PRE-COMBINE MOCK

Free Agency

The main focus will be to sign our own free agents, but we will not be able to or want to sign all of them.
I think that Ted Ginn, Carlos Rogers, and Larry Grant are the most likely to leave. We give Grant a second round tender.

Ginn does not bring enough to the table as a receiver to merit a big contract.

If Carlos Rogers wants a four year contract, we probably, and unfortunately, will not sign him.

Adam Snyder gets more money elsewhere.

Release /do not resign:

Chilo Rachal
Moran Norris
Brett Swain.
Justin Peelle
Reggie Smith
Madieu Williams
Carlos Rogers
Ted Ginn
Larry Grant (with 2nd round tender)
Shawntae Spencer
Parys Haralson
Adam Snyder

Keep:

Alex Smith
Dashon Goldson (Tag if necessary)
Ahmad Brooks
Josh Morgan
C. J. Spillman
Blake Constanzo

Tough choices have to be made. Ahmad Brooks is a better OLB than Parys and we do not enough cap space to keep both.
The money saved by cutting Haralson and Spencer will help pay the cost of keeping Brooks.

We lose Larry Grant to Philadelphia, but we get their second pick--#46.

Free Agent Additions:

Ben Grubbs OG 6-3 310

Pierre Garcon WR 6-0 210

We leave free agency with one good receiver and a major problem on the offensive line fixed.

We still need help at wide receiver, corner, another OLB, and depth of the DL.
We have extra second round pick for Larry Grant.

This would be a dream scenario, but I'd be doing backflips if it went down that way. I like pretty much all of these players. Really don't think Philly would give up a 2nd for Grant, but you never know sometimes. They'd definitely give up a 7th if we gave him an original round tender.

I think to acquire Wright though, we'd need to trade up, especially if he puts up a 4.3. I think we would be aggressive though. Adding Wright would almost make me happy no matter what the rest of the picks were. I grade him as the 2nd best receiver in the draft currently.

There's no way the eagles give up a second for Grant. When was the last time a player with a 2nd round tender was claimed? The only player I can think of was Wes Welker and the Patriots just ended up trading a 2nd and a 7th for him because they didn't want to over pay him to prevent the Dolphins from matching the offer.
I absolutely love the Grubbs signing and the Wright pick. Realistic mock off season, albeit with a few stretches.

Agreed, but moving up would likely cost the Niners one of those 2nd round picks, unless they traded away future picks.
we're only drafting one wr?
no like
I don't think Wright will be there when we pick.

We'll have to trade up for him.

i dont see niners spending big $ on a guard, and i'd be surprised if they signed a ravens standout player, as I think jim and john harbaugh may feel better not taking each other's players (just a hunch, no proof that they feel this way)

I like the mock, but another smurf wideout?
like the mock. dont think anyone will take grant with a 2nd, maybe 3rd or 4th. but overall i think this would be a great offseason!
Pretty unrealistic. Wright wont be there at #30 and I cannot imagine the Eagles ever giving up a 2nd round pick for Larry Grant.
We aren't giving up Rogers or releasing Haralson.

Rogers can play outside or in the slot and Haralson is solid as hell with a decent cap figure.

Wright won't be there when we pick. I have no doubt that whoever we draft at WR will have people scratching their heads, but will end up turning heads by season's end. Look for us to find mid round value at WR and RB.

This team needs at least one more good OLB (only 3 on the roster last season) and DL depth.

Look for us to grab a defensive difference maker early.
