Anybody know too much about this guy? He had really good production, like 1300 yards and 10 TDs I think. He's only about 6'0'' but he might be pretty fast. I didn't see any of his games but the few highlights there are on youtube look decent, kind of reminds me of Reggie Wayne. Thoughts?

Haven't heard to much about the guy, but he doesn't have exactly what you would call elite speed for a guy his size, he runs in the 4.45 4.52 range, not slow, but like i said at 6' and only 190, 195 you would think high 4.3 to low 4.4. In the Bowl game against Mississippi St. he had 9 catches for 50 something yards I think, couldn't tell you much other than that, he seems like a good late round guy maybe 3rd.

Mayock has him as the #5 WR in the draft.
I'm a big fan of Givens, he is extremely talented.

These are the types of WRs we need to be looking at. I hope we don't draft a WR in the 1st.
Givens got alot of this yards after the catch which I like and can make defenders miss. Runs good routes. Givens kind of reminds me of Greg Jennings. Similar body type, not a burner, but still has good speed and seems to get up to top speed fast and tracks the ball in the air well.

Heard him compared to guys like Nate Washington. I think he's a lot like Johnny Knox except a little more polish but a little less speed.

That's what's so shocking is the NFL network people really like him but he is only graded out as a 5th or 6th rounder. Sounds like he could be a steal for anyone even if he rises a round or 2 from the combine.

I've seen him being more in the 3rd-4th round range.

I stand corrected. I read early predictions as a 5th rounder but Givens claims he was given a 3rd round grade by the draft board.
His coach says he needs to improve his blocking ability and being more involved in plays when he doesn't have the ball or isn't an intended target but he runs routes really well and has a good work ethic.

I have seen this guy play live from a few rows up. He makes plays happen out of nothing. I would be very happy if the Niners can draft a BIG WR in the first round, and nab Givens in the second round. He could end up being the steal of the draft. Good possession WR with the potential to make a big play on the shortest of routes.

Exactly what I thought about him watching him play this year. I'd hate to see him go the Saints, btw. He is dangerous in a Dome.
