If Patrick Peterson had fallen past the 5th or 6th pick, would we still have picked Aldon?

Just thinking about this today.... What do you guys think? Was Aldon what they wanted from the get-go, or did we want Peterson?

Not only that, he gets mauled against the run, gets taken right outta the play. Not all the time, but he was getting owned when he was playing against New Orleans.

All done will pan out as the best pick
LOL. We may have picked the best player in the draft #7 overall.

I remember reading that they were targeting someone and then the value wasnt there in trading down since Atlanta traded with Cleveland instead. Peterson was obviously at the top of their list. I am so happy with how it worked out though.

This -- and, I believe the Powers-that-Be, had Peterson targeted.

I always get enamored with draft trades, trying to recoup some Walsh magic. However I think last years draft was pretty textbook, you draft BPA at the slot you are drafting, end of story. Pittsburg has done this for years with huge success. I am aware the niners traded up a few spots for Kaepernick, but they had an abunance of picks so still a consistent draft with picks in each round.

If Peterson was there at 7, we would have taken him.
