He has a higher ceiling in my opinion. He adjusted very well when Bradford went down and he was thrown on the field. Then, he took a huge step in his sophomore year and I expect him take Okla. far this year.

Not like Jason White at all. Jason White had a weak arm, and couldn't make most of the NFL throws. This guy has one of the biggest arms in college football today, very very poise in the pocket, plays mostly from shotgun - but also has experience takin' snaps from the Center.

With Luck outta range I'd take Jones over Barkley. OK, maybe all three will be outta range, but if we had the chance at the other two we better take Jones.
This is one reason I really disliked the idea of using a high draftee on a QB in this draft. I recommended burning a 5th rounder on Tyrod Taylor, who is off to a good start in Baltimore, but more as a guy who would be a superb backup.
The franchise QB's in the 2012 draft have the potential to make this next draft really special.

If Harbaugh has a shot at Jones, Barkley, think he goes for them? (I think it's a given he would go for Luck)
Anyone watched the game yesterday? Jones to Broyles is one lethal combo. 450 yards against a pretty good defense. He did have 2 INTs, but still had a great game.
The only way I can see us giving up on CK after only one year is if Luck is there. I can't see any other senario where we take a QB early thus burning the CK pick a la Jimmy Claussen. I am not saying that CK is a can't miss at this point, I really don't know. If this were to happen the evaluation would all be based on behind the scenes progress, that is unless he sees the feild later this year. Either way, I think it is a moot point as I don't think we will be near bad enough to take a top QB next year.

CK looks like he shouldn't have been drafted where he was. 3 year project at best and maybe never. Our best case scenario is Alex continues his rise which he has been doing under Harbaugh.
I'm ready to move on from Kaepernick already for any of these young studs. Trade away the draft to nab a franchise signal caller, so we never have to go through this "we don't have a QB" s**t ever again.

I know you're saying "3 year project" as a pejorative, but I'm curious if you think 3 years tutelage could actually make CK legit. I'm actually starting to believe Alex Smith can be an above-average starter and contend with the right pieces around him. The "3 year sit" model worked out well for Rodgers.
For that reason, I'd much rather use all our first day picks on starters at other positions in the next couple years than start more QB controversies.
I like Landry Jones too We need sumbody INTELLIGENT, ACCURATE, CONFIDENT, and POISE. But I didnt know Kellen Moore was soo short. But if we went after a short Qb go for sumbody fast like Dernard Robinson or Robert Griffen III.(Remember Steve Young? yeah, he was only 6'2) I think they both come out next year though.
Josh Johnson is gonna be a free agent next year. If Smith has a good year, he's gonna get resigned without a doubt. In two years, Hopefully JH will have Kaep lookin like a QB.

I say it'll take about two years for CK to become a QB, but I agree with 3yr at least before he can be a starter. Smith has been lookin good and is getting better every week. I think Harbaugh can get Smith to be a top 10 QB once our O-Line gets better. If we draft or Aquire some O-Line help and pick a Dynamic WR *cough *cough jeff fuller or Alshon Jeffery who both stand at 6'4 and 225. Picking up a Db(Dre Kirkpatrick) before a WR is more realistic though lol but I guy can dream, right? But once again, it all depends on how the rooks do. If Cully proves he can play CB then our CB problem gets less urgent.
