One of the more interesting classes :
2 37 Randall Cunningham Nevada-Las Vegas Philadelphia Eagles
3 57 Frank Reich Maryland Buffalo Bills
6 142 Steve Bono UCLA Minnesota Vikings
6 143 Rusty Hilger Oklahoma State Los Angeles Raiders
11 285 Doug Flutie Boston College Los Angeles Rams
11 294 Joe Shield Trinity (Conn.) Green Bay Packers
Sup Bernie Kosar Miami (Fla.) Cleveland Browns
Few QB's, yet a good yield of starters and backups (4 of whom have some degree of NFL fame) and not one 1st round talent coming out.

This just looks at 1st and 2nd rounders since 2000. By my count 13 of 33 panned out. 39% success rate. Uh, no bueno...
What's the success rate for not taking a QB in the first two rounds?
Tough to calculate, but my point is that you pretty much have to spend a first or second on a QB if you don't have a franchise guy. Even if it is a losing bet, it's a better bet than going into a season without a dominant QB.
