Just sayin'...
But other QB-needy teams will also be wanting those picks, so they won't come cheap. IMO, there will be a bidding war for those picks, and many teams will be left out in the cold in trying to move back in to the late 1st/early 2nd.
Even if there is a bidding war, it is far cheaper than a bidding war for Newton or Gabbert. IDK Ghost, I truly see us wanting Ponder, Dalton or Kaepernick. Just how much is yet to be seen. I would put my money on any of those three than Gabbert, Netwon, Locker or Mallett. If they don't get them, I can see us drafting Stanzi.

Well, this is the possibility as I can see it..
the Patriots are inlove with both Von Miller and Robert Quinn, and both are available at the 7th spot..
The fear of Dallas landing Von Miller and Houston taking Quinn for Wade Phillips new/' 3-4 scheme, New England pulled the trigger and offered us their two 1st rounders.
The Patriots now with the 7th overall pick select: Robert Quinn, OLB - UNC.
The San Francisco 49ers then drafts:
1a - 17) Jake Locker, QB - Washington
1b - 28) Brooks Reed, OLB - Arizona
2) - Marvin Austin, DT - UNC
2b) - Davon House, CB - New Mexico State (Indy's 2nd round for our 3rd and 5th this year)
3a) - traded to Indy for their 2nd rounder
3b) - Greg Salas, WR - Hawaii (pick from SD for our 5th round this year and next year's 3rd round)
4a) - Will Rackley, OG - Lehigh
4b) - Owen Marecic, FB - Stanford
5a) - traded to San Diego
5b) - Greg Romeus, DT - PITT (Traded our two 7th rounders to Philly)
6a) - Ryan Winterswyk, DE - Boise state
6b) - Jacquizz Rodgers, RB - Oregon State
7a) - Traded to Philly for Philly's 5th round
7b) - Traded to Philly for Philly's 5th round
7c - Compensatory Pick) - Chase Beeler, C - Stanford
7d - Compensatory Pick) - Justin Rogers, CB - Richmond

Here is the thing about the Pats, they have good coaches and personnel people to look for good people the fit their system. They got their picks by trading their people like they did with the raiders and vikings. They also get their picks by trading their pick this year for a higher round pick next year. Say they got a pick that is the 3rd pick of the 2nd round, they will trade it for a 1st round pick next year. When they trade up they don't mortgage the future. Two number ones to them is to high. They would go for two good players than one great player, in other words two players who can can into the pro bowl a couple of times than a possible hall of fame. they are about team.
With that said, we could end up with a Balmer and Druckenmiller. Rather have a V Davis and P Willis.

absolutely, the only way i would say no is if peterson is there. if PP is there run up there and draft him. i would only trade the right to pick peterson for both the pats 1st round picks and their 2nd round pick, steep but i think the kids that good.
if peterson isn't available we could get a solid D player at either OLB or CB and a QB.

I totally disagree, this is the year they trade up.

And it's a hell of a lot cheaper than moving up to #4 from #7 to land a QB like Gabbert or Newton.
Cheaper? We gave up a future 1st round pick last time to make that happen. That wasn't cheap at all. Instead of having the 10th pick we got stuck with Balmer, and we were lucky to be stuck with him. If Indy didn't call we would be stuck with a 2nd round pick instead of the 10th pick in the following draft.
I'm positive that New England would take that trade again, but don't think they're taking our 2nd round pick and 2 4th rounders because that's not how they roll. You want 28 you give up future picks.
If you really believe in that quarterback fine, just understanding you're betting the ranch on that quarterback.
