Here are the Niners picks: 1, 2, 3, 4A, 4B, 5, 6A, 6B, 7A, 7B
Feel free to critique my mock and insert whatever players you think should be drafted by the Niners instead.
Team Needs:
-QB: we need to draft at least 1
-OLB or DE: we need more pressure on the opposing QB"s
-NT: we have to do something about Franklin, either sign him to a big contract or replace him.
-ILB: someone will have to replace spikes when he's done
-Secondary: can use help almost everywhere - just had a bad year
-RB: could possibly use a speedy back
-WR: Harbaugh could want more weapons
-FB: we need a good FB
-OLine: to run the ball well we can always use depth and chilo is ok and baas situation may need to be addressed.
So here are my Picks...
1st - Robert Quinn DE - I think he can be big for us. Miller and Peterson should be gone so we need to put pressure on the opposing Qb's. We had 36 sacks last year. 3-4 Defenses like Pittsburgh and Green Bay had 48 and 47. How many more could we have if we add a sack specialist?
2nd - Andy Dalton Qb - I know we all think that Harbaugh can transform any QB, but later round QB’s are a risk. He's smart, accurate, strong leader in the huddle and he's a winner. Played in a lot of high pressure games. Put on an impressive show for Harbaugh at his pro day.
3rd - Jerrell Powe DT - was considering Kendrick Ellis but i think he will be out of reach for us. Powe has already played the NT position and has good natural size. 6'2 and 335. he doesn't have to put on extra weight. Read the strengths on this guy.
4A -Cortez Allen CB - Has good size and quick feet. Breaks up a lot of passes and typically plays man coverage.
4B - Vincent Brown WR - This is a luxury pick. We need more help on defense but Harbaugh is also going to want weapons for his offense. runs good slants and crossing routes. good size and skills for the WCO.
5th - Justin Rodgers CB - the guy is a playmaker. he's only 5'11 but he has good speed. he is also excels in returning kickoff's and punts.
6A - Jake Kirkpatrick C - Athletic with good size. better run blocker. is also from TCU so him and Dalton already have good experience.
6B - Justin Boren OG - he's a big boy. he gets a good first punch for the run game.
7A - Josh Jasper K - played for LSU. one of the top kickers and although i like nedney it could be a wise choice to find a replacement.
7B - Robert Hughes FB - played FB at ND. has also played running back. good receiving back as well.

I think Christian Ponder is too perfect for our system to pass up. I think we should even trade up to get him

Not bad but if only the players you had listed would be available when we would pick...I would like to see the draft go like this.
1. Patrick Peterson, CB
2. Chris Ponder, QB
3. Dontay Moch, OLB
4a. John Moffit, OG
4b. Sione Fua, DT
5. Owen Marecic, FB
6a. Noel Divine, RB (Doubt he will go in the 7th so I moved him up)
6b. Stephen Burton, WR
7a. Bruce Miller, DE (There seems to a big difference in opinion on where he is going. I don't follow the stuff closely enough)
7b. Michael Morgan, LB (depth and st)
Again...this is just going by the names in each round that you gave (I added one. The draft will turn out completely different)

I agree in a draft a full of talented CB it ignores all of the CB's to settle for a middle of the Road talent...CB is a huge priority and should not wait till the 4th round to be addressed. BTW I may be wrong but Dalton could be had in the 3rd round

didnt really fully adress the secondary, which was the teams biggest weakness

if Perterson is there than he gets picked and switches a lot of the picks. just trying to be realistic and i don't think he will make it to us. Some needs will get addressed in free agency whenever the cba gets settled but if it's after the draft i think they will address different needs. there is speed and playmakers at the corner position to be had in later rounds unless we get Peterson. With the first 3 picks one of them will be a QB, if the other is Peterson than we can't address the LB's till the 3rd or NT. whoever falls to us in the 1st round really determines how we pick after that.

I disagree. QB is the biggest hole on the team. And I'm sure if this is how the draft unravels, then the Niners will focus on signing a CB and a vet QB in FA (whenever that happens). And with the improvement in pass rush, there will be a marked improvement from the secondary due to 1/2 second less time available to opposing QBs.

Welcome to the webzone! CB is a huge priority but we have other ones as well. I would love to upgrade a lot of areas but all of them can't happen in the draft. Clements and Spencer at least know what they are doing, they just had a bad year. if we can get peterson than great but if not than i would love to fix Harylson, Lawson and Brooks. Willis needs to be surrounded by better talent and those guys seem to disappoint. Brooks still has upside. Dalton is projected in the 2nd and 3rd but if you wait till the 3rd and he gets taken then you have to go down your big board even further to get the most important position on the team. Whatever Qb they want i think they will have to jump early to get him. Just be proactive instead of reactive and get some of the top guys you want.
