I see a more mobile Tommy Brady. I know that sounds extreme, but i see a young Tommy in him.

I like Ponder too, and if you want to put him at 1 fine. He's not the best prospect in this draft, but OK. Mallet on the other hand is trash. I was outraged when I watched him play and would hear announcers talking him up. He's not a franchise QB, and in 3 years he won't be with the team that drafts him. My $.05
Ya he has a world class arm. An arm that doesn't come around but every 10 years. His immobility i believe is a tad exaggerated. No worse than Brady, Palmer, Peyton types.
I'm not worried about his character at all. I loved his leadership amongst his peers at the combine.
i thought that mallett had a bad interview...

Mallett is a very different type of player from Ponder and Stanzi. If he had similar type of players ranked near each other that's one thing...to each is own but to have guys completely different in their skill sets right next to each other above really talented other positions is just someone pulling names out of a hat.

Is Joe Montana of similar skill set to Peyton Manning? No.

He doesn't need world class pass protection. How many Razorbacks you see comin out in the draft?
The media was tryin to get a rise out of him once he said he didn't wanna talk to them (the media) about the drug allegations. In reality he did well in team interviews according to multiple sources.

So let me answer your first question. I don't like him for several reasons.
1) His immobility is disgusting. Nothing compared to Manning. Manning and Brady don't run, but are extremely mobile within the pocket. Manning dances constantly, and Brady has tremendous footwork. This guy has the footwork of Andrew Bynum.
2) I think his leadership ability sucks. I see him in games and the way he carries himself and it rubs me the wrong way.
3) If you can't avoid pressure, and you can't move around in the pocket, you damn well better be accurate on the run. His accuracy on the move is horrendous.
As for "teaching" a guy what to do when a play breaks down, I disagree 10000%. You can teach plays, you can teach technique, but you can't teach something like that. Some guys have it (see Locker, Jake; Ben, Big; Favre, Brett; and of course Young; Steve), others don't. He is a big arm guy. Much like Russel. Curious, how did you feel about JeMarcus coming out of LSU?

Let me just prove you wrong with all of your immobile talk and inability to throw accurately on the move talk. Here's a video. Here are times in the video where he proves you wrong. Mallett video
-1:22 mark Mallett has a play-action rollout. The back is covered. He makes an incredible throw to the back of the endzone while on the run.
-2:33 mark Mallett has a ton of pressure on him, pocket breaks down and he weaves through the traffic for a TD run.
-2:42 mark Mallett has a 3 man rush, see a large hole to possibly take off and run. He runs up in the pocket, tucks the ball, keeps his eyes down field, pulls up just as he's about to get nailed and drills a bullet to his wr for a td.
-2:53 mark Mallett play action rolling right a defender comes free, Mallett back pedals, throws off his back foot for a td strike.
-4:12 mark Mallett lines up in shotgun and the pocket gets destroyed immediately by the gators front line. Mallett steps up in the pocket, hop steps to avoid the guy going at him from the back/side and fires a strike deep down field.
-4:28 mark Mallett play action gets busted up because the right sides pressure is too much. Mallett rolls out with a defender grabbing him, escapes the defender, throws off 1 foot and hits his wr in the back of the endzone.
Now i told you you were wrong, right? It's ok. We'll get through this together. I won't even ask for you to retract your statements. I know you were wrong. Heck, maybe not even wrong. Just not right. You were probably thinking about some other qb. You got them mixed up. I get it. It happens. Let's move on because the tape don't lie.
