What! When was that. What happened?

Actually, they did it 2 years in a row. I can't remember the exact years but it was around 03 or 04.

when time runs out they dont lose the pick all together the next team picks in their place and then they have ht pick after

This clearly was not on purpose, but could be a smart move. If you have two players graded the same, let the team's behind you pick until one goes and then select the other. You get the player you wanted and it saved you millions of dollars. Of course, only if trading down wasn't a viable option.

Seems smart on paper but it can be argued that a move like this will lead to tensed contract negotiations with the player on where he should be slotted and letting time run out makes the front office look inept IMO.

Any player we want...
I don't want them to take Peterson, but I think they will if he manages to get past Denver and Buffalo. He's WAY too talented for them to pass up and they have a pressing need at CB opposite DRC. They can likely pick up a pass rusher at the top of the 2nd round (Jabaal Sheard or Brooks Reed could be there), or trade back into the late first if guys like Kerrigan, Ayers or Houston are still available around picks 25-30.

Hell, they can even wait until free agency starts and grab a veteran band-aid like our own Manny Lawson, or Jason Babin, Kamerion Wimbley, Mark Anderson, etc., to address their pass rush. But they're not going to find a CB with the size, speed, talent and potential of Peterson ANYWHERE.

Of course the upside to AZ drafting Peterson (should he fall to #5) is that Von Miller will be available to us.

i really am keeping my finger cross that the Cam wont have an appeal with the Cards and Wisenhunt..
they can take any1 just dont take peterson, quinn or aj green

those 3 have the highest upside in the draft

Luckily I want to draft Peterson more than Miller.

From the min or two I spent on their site (I just needed to get the f out of there asap), I gathered that they 1) value Miller very highly and 2) think they are very strong in the secondary.

Based on what they, as a team, value, Peterson may drop to us.
