I've heard a lot of what if's about getting the patriots two first round picks. I honestly want to know if this is wishful thinking or is there some kind of report out there that we are looking to work out some kind of deal for their two firsts? It sounds highly unlikely to me but I just haven't heard any of this. Could someone please elaborate for me? Thanks!

Wishful thinking. The Pats are great a scouting and using their picks wisely. They need to bolster their roster, so I be surprised I'd they traded up.

The Patriots have two first, two seconds, and two thirds this year. That is sick considering they finished with the best record in the regular season at 14-2. If AJ Green is still there at the #7 pick, that is something the Patriots lack and the Niners would have to be considered a legit trading partner at that point. The Patriots do not trade up often, but you would have to consider it as a possibility.

I agree with you but I would add this may be the year they decide to get a someone who will really help them get back to the Super Bowl. Brady is 33 and may only have 3-5 years left. The only player I can see them going for is AJ Green. A big play WR on the outside is missing now with the loss of Moss.
They used 3 of their first 4 picks on defense last year so they have some youth their.
1st Round (27th Overall) – Devin McCourty, CB, Rutgers
2nd Round (42nd Overall) – Rob Gronkowski, TE, Arizona
2nd Round (53rd Overall) – Jermaine Cunningham, OLB, Florida
2nd Round (62nd Overall) – Brandon Spikes, LB, Florida
With them trading up for him they would still have two 2nd and 3rd rounders. They can do a lot with that due to their great scouting department. Also I would not be surprised if they take a QB this year. There are many QBs in this draft that could be great if developed correctly and having Brady allows you to do this.

Right. A team like the Pats can afford to draft Kaepernack, iron out the wrinkles for a few years, and have a great QB for years to come.

Proving once again other teams should stop trading with them. Other teams get owned when they trade with the Pats.

I f'n hate the Patriots. They could however put together a package to move way up in the draft. Now its not their style to pay top dollar for draft picks, but remember when we had the number 2 or 3? pick in the draft and we traded with the Redskins. We got a a pick in the low teens that turned into Julian Peterson and a pick in the low twenties that turned into Ahmed Plummer. I think the Pats are smart enough to retool their perimeters on offense and add more quality to the defense with their abundance of picks on hand. Even if they don't get Green they could still settle for Julio Jones and potentially get Kerrigan or Watt with their other first rounder.

I'd seriously jizz my pants if they traded these 2 1st. rounders AND a player of need (they have a plethora of DL's, OLB's, and S's). Gimme Pryor, brace, Merriweather, Richard, Neal, Kazcur, etc. and those 2 first rounders...And I do this in a 1/2 heartbeat..

We wouldn't have to trade of two 1st round picks, and we've shown in in the past by trading BACK into the late 1st round.
