I think peterson/green are both gone.

I like miller over quinn because to me explosiveness>sheer size. You can always add 10 pounds but it's harder to teach a guy to have that motor.

So with #7 I pick:
I don't see how anyone could pick anyone but a QB with our Carr as the only official QB on the roster. free agency could change this, but if we do not pick up a veteran QB, we will be in dire need of a QB to start 2011...
Please not Von Miller. Overrated and undersized. Never reach in the top 10 for just a pass rush specialist, remember Vernon Gholston? Jaamal Anderson?

For my money the BPA for our team is Julio Jones. Green is fast but fast aint that fast in the NFL. You can shut down fast. You cant shut down toughness and heart and Julio has that on top of elite talent. Think Larry Fitz with the toughness of Anquan Bolden. The offense is what needs fixing and clearly the talent on the outside is not good enough. Jones would fix that right away.

If we are talking best player period, thats Bowers. He will def be gone though, same for Fairly and Peterson. If any of those three are there, take them without hesitation. Prince Amukamara is overrated, stiff hips looks like a safety to me.
Quinn would be a HUGE gamble, he passes the eye test but so did Amobe Okoye. Quinn doesnt pass the production test only putting up 13 sack in two years. When you take a defensive guy you need to take PRODUCTION not POTENTIAL. Ware, Freeney, Merriman, Suh, all those guys put up 14, 15 sack seasons in college. Go look at the list of the LBs taken in the past 5 years. ALOT of potential taken very high with no reward. (http://www.nfl.com/draft/history/fulldraft?position=LB&type=position)

Quinn--a lean, super strong 270. Just think he may be a real monster at OLB. I would be happy with any of the top five or so on D; or even Green if the 9ers wanted to shore up the recieving corps. It is not wrong to draft to strength as sometimes it really helps the other areas to blossom. A great pass rusher would make the CBs much better, and think how great J Smith would be with Quinn beside or opposite him!

I get the feeling that the Eagles want that #7 pick. They won't get anything close to two #1s so they'll find a creative way to deliver Kolb to the Niners.

But if that doesn't happen, I'm starting to think Quinn makes the most sense. I predict Von Miler will be gone. The Niners will have a choice between Quinn, Gabbert or Price. Niners pick Quinn to shore up a much needed pass rush.

Trying to ruin my day? Don't want to trade away #7 short of a young superstar, and Kolb is not that. Trading down might be more acceptable depending on where Quinn is slated to go, but can't imagine him sliding past 10. As I've noted elsewhere, I really think Quinn might be something special and his character doesn't seem to be an issue other than the gifts accepted--a common practice on many teams. If he had assaulted someone or had recurring issues I might have another mind-set.
If a prospect like Green is on the board at 7, even though it isn't the biggest need, you have to pull the lever. He is probably the best player in this draft, and a multi-year Pro-Bowler.

I would be really tempted if he fell to us. Don't know if we could pass him up. Could trade down because someone will probably want him if he dropped that far. Otherwise, I know 3-4 DE isn't a big need but to me Dareus is another guy I would have trouble passing on as well if he made it to us.
