2nd tier DBs

Just wondering how you guys would rank the 2nd tier of Corners after Peterson and Amukamara. Guys like Aaron Williams, Jimmy Smith, Jerrard Tarrant, and maybe Rashad Carmichael?
I'm pretty pleased with the CB depth in this draft class. I don't feel like we need to reach on the position. Lots will become clearer after the Combine, of course....

CORNERBACKS

*Patrick Peterson --------------- 6-1, 220 4.42 ---------- LSU (top 10)

Prince Amukamara ------------- 6-0, 200 4.50 ---------- Nebraska (top 10)

*Brandon Harris ---------------- 5-11, 195 4.45 -------- Miami (rd 1)

*Aaron Williams ---------------- 6-0, 195 4.50 --------- Texas (rd 2)
Jimmy Smith -------------------- 6-2, 205 4.50 --------- Colorado (rd 2)

Ras-I Dowling (FS) -------------- 6-2, 200 4.57 --------- Virginia (rd 2)
*Brandon Burton ---------------- 6-0, 190 4.45 --------- Utah (rd 2)
*Chase Minnifield --------------- 6-0, 185 4.48 --------- Virginia (rd 3)
Curtis Brown -------------------- 6-0, 180 4.40 --------- Texas (rd 3)
Johnny Patrick ------------------ 6-0, 190 4.45 --------- Louisville (rd 3)
Rashad Carmichael ------------- 5-10, 185 4.40 --------- Virginia Tech (rd 3)
Davon House -------------------- 6-0, 190 4.45 --------- New Mexico State (rd 3)
Ras-I Dowling would be a very good pick up in round 2!
I like Jimmy Smith in the 2nd round.
My first choice in round 2 would depend on scheme. If we are going to ask our CB to press often, then give me Jimmy Smith. If we want more of a man cover CB, then I'd go with Aaron Williams.

Have not watched much of Dowling, but he seems like he might be Mike Rumph v.2 at CB. Could give him a look at press CB and have a good plan B to move him to safety at some point.
im a brandon burton fan....since this is a post of DBs as well there are also a nice crop of safeties.

rahim moore, kenny tate and robert sands

What about Tarrant? You know he declared right?

edit: My bad, forgot he was a safety. Still though what do you think about guys like him and Tyler Sash?

Now there is a frightening name from the past! I hope you're wrong about Dowling, we'll see soon.

Just for grins!

Exactly right. Had him pegged as a safety. He had some nasty rape charge against him as well a couple years ago. Not sure where I'd spot him, but it wouldn't be too high right now.

Not saying anything definitive about Dowling, mind you. Just makes me nervous when we talk about big CBs that lack in great COD skills.

Holy s**t I had no idea!!!! Yikes, yeah I would probably not be too interested in him after that. What about T. Sash though? He is a pretty good ball hawk, possibly be had in the middle rounds?

Definitely 3rd round worthy for any team looking safety, IMHO. Can't wait to see how well he does at the Combine. He is one of the more pro-ready safeties coming out... I'd say 2nd round talent, but safeties have a way of dropping rounds.

so do i but he will be in the first rd post combine due to size-speed combination. i can see him being picked up by philly or baltimore
I'm liking Curtis Marsh (Utah St.) more and more as a development CB. He's not a finished product by any stretch, but he's got the size (6'1", 195) and speed (4.45ish) that NFL corners need, and is a very good athlete that is still learning the technical aspects of that position (played RB his first two years). With the right coaching, he could be one of those guys who has a much more distinguished pro career than college.
Davon House is that dude! He is going to surprise some people over the next few months. Look for him to move up boards.
