Do we need to draft a RG?
Do we need to draft a RG?

I've been thinking we might just go all young on the line since we will be building for the future and will have no guarantee to sign a free agent prior to drafting. So I propose we pick a RG on the first day what do you think?

Mid to late round, pref a Dalman type who can play center and guard.

it would be nice to land one in FA because chances are if we drafted someone (which actually may come first so we probably do have to draft one) it means another year or rachal starting.

I agree with this. I also wonder, if we plan to re-sign Baas, if we might stick Heitmann in at RG? He used to play G so that's at least an option that is better than Chilo.

Yeah I've been wondering the same Ghost. Baas seems much better at C than G is Heitmann the same. Is he going to struggle in space. I mean Chilo really seems to struggle in the space created by edge rushers. His laterally movement really is poor. Does Heitmann also struggle with this?

Agree....provided Heitmann is healthy. He had a pretty serious neck injury this year and is considering retirement, from what I hear.

The good news is that Chilo will finally get some good coaching this coming year and therefore, we will all get a much better idea if he is indeed a true prospect or a bust. Don't expect Harbaugh and Co. to be real patient with him though. He will probably have to show some fairly significant improvement in training camp for the Niners to keep him.

I'd love to get a starting RG from one of the first three rounds but I think we have too many other bigger needs to address. Rachal is a free agent after this year so he might step it up. I think we could go get a vet as well because there are bigger needs out there to use one on RG early.
