I know that this is not a countdown, but it is about the draft.
I just read Scott Wright's (NFL Draftcountdown) article about the wisdom of waiting to the 2nd and 3rd rounds to draft a QB. He looked at the last 19 years and found that 41 QBs had been drafted during that time. Only Drew Brees (taken 32nd, would be 1st round today) has proven himself to be a great one. If you just look for those who have become steady starters, you only add Plummer and Henne to the list. He admitted that Kolb, Clausen and McCoy might eventually make the list.
All in all, however, the history of drafting QBs in the 2 and 3 rounds is not good.
