if you read the article the only thing this is measuring is NFL readiness. most are based higher because they are seniors and put in their time for development. this has no bearing on how good or bad a QB will be

Original poster failed to mention that these scores are based on level of preparedness for the NFL, NOT their talent level.

Yep, he's talking about how they would do next year, as a rookie, using a formula based on a number of variables, not the least of which is NCAA experience.

That's what I'm hoping/praying for. Dude is sick and as long as he can get healthy he might end up being the best of the bunch now that Luck is staying in school...
Sorry but No to Ponder...I love FSU, and there is no way I want Ponder on my Pro Team. He is horrible at decision making, another Alex Smith....at least Alex was competent at the college level....Ponder is not.

Ponder stands in the pocket, makes good decisions, is consistently accurate, and has a super fast release (at least he was before he got hurt).
I've got no love for FSU what-so-ever but I have a feeling Ponder will be one of the top 1-3 QBs in this draft once their NFL careers are over.

Against inferior competition he is Montana re-incarnated. Against top competition he is like Ken O'Brein against the Patriots. That is my peeve.

My evaluation doesn't really take the competition into account all that much. I look at how he looks... His footwork, pocket presence/awareness, vision, touch, mechanics, release, accuracy, etc. Using those categories I think he's the best QB in the draft hands down. He needs to work on some bad decisions OCCASIONALLY, and telegraphing his #1 option, but most NCAA college QB's have those same issues without all the strengths of Ponder.
People aren't as high on him as Gabbert or Mallet because they are taller and have stronger arms but I think those are the only categories they beat Ponder in and it's not like Christian is short (6'2 1/2") and his release/velocity is MUCH better than average.

Ponder and Devlin over Luck?? Get real.
Ponder has a jacked up throwing elbow and consistancy issues. Until his arm is cleared by the docs, I think people will be scared off. He had no arm strength in his bowl game. Healing is going to be his biggest hurdle.
lol and cam newton the 15th ranked qb when he led or was 2nd in hella categories and won the hiesman as a qb lol. f**k this guys list.
