- Luck plays Spring ball at Stanford and sits out the draft.
- Sits back and watches NFL CBA situation and decides whether to continue his Senior year or enter supplemental draft.
- If he enters supplemental draft, Panthers are not guaranteed #1 overall. Supplemental draft is run like an NBA lottery with team winning 6 games or less receiving lottery balls.
He's not likely to miss much training camp or OTA activities because there isn't likely to be much with the looming lockout.

But I'm pretty sure the Panthers still have the best shot if it's run like a lottery. In any case, the Niners are not guaranteed the #1 spot in the supplemental draft. So there's no guarantee we would have the first right to him. Thus, he could end up in Carolina, Buffalo, Arizona, Washington, etc. Too big of a risk to take for him. Unless the labor situation is fixed and he's ok with playing for any NFL team.

Do you know when the lottery is usually conducted? Didn't see that in the article and I know it depends on the new CBA, but what about last year?

entering the supplemental draft sure he would possibly be able to land on another team but its going to cost him. teams wont have to sign him to a huge contract. on the other hand if he refuses to sign a deal would he become a free agent or would the team he refused to sign with have his rights for a year and then have to enter the draft next year......how would that work

I highly doubt Luck would do that to his school & his teammates, he seems like a high character guy. To say he's returning, go through spring ball only to then leave everyone high & dry would be a disgusting move imo.

yeah i don't think he would do that unless the players and coaches were in on it but then it would get leaked.
Interesting take though.
