Rookie wage scale will be in place by then so it will be significantly less.

#1 next year will prolly get more money that #1 this year, not that that's the reason he stayed tho.
It sucks for the Niners because that means it thins out the top of QB class for the Niners. Gabbert or another QB might be taken 1st now.

Gabbert is lazy no thanks plus his accuracy is a huge issue

Not very likely. Carolina has too many needs, and QB isn't even chief among them. The only reason they'd pick Luck is because of what a special talent he is. I'd imagine they'll pick someone like A.J. Green now, since no one will want to trade with them.

Regardless of what he gets when he does come out, a degree from Stanford will go a long way toward making up the difference over his entire life.

Make it happen 49ers!!

A lot of these kids jump at the chance to go to the NFL because they desperately need the money: they had a rough upbringing, their single parent is on welfare, etc. Sometimes the NFL is a way out for a lot of these guys.

But that's not the case with Luck. He doesn't need the money, at least not like other guys need it. Yes, he could probably make more money if he came out now, but he's a smart guy and wants to do what will make him happy.

I'm usually the first one to say "what an idiot", but I have no problem with this. He'll still be a millionaire football player, and he can finish his education in the process.

God thing we didn't lose our last game.

The Arizona Cardinals are by far the worst team in the league. They will be in the #1 spot next year. They have no talent other than at the WR position. None.

The whole states of Carolina is asking Why, Luck, why?

They still have a talented cornerback and a fat defensive tackle, and a good safety. But yeah that's it. 4 players. We have about the same number of top talent.
This could be Luck's first gambit to force Carolina to agree to a trade to the team that hires Harbaugh.
