1. Comparing players based on school. All Stanford QBs are like Elway, all from USC are like Leinert, all from Deleware must be Flaaco
2. Comparing players based on race. All black QBs are alike, all white RBs and WRs are alike. Newton? He's the next McNaab/Vick!
3. Assesing player styles based on size. A 170 lb WRs is not neccisarily the same player as DeSean, and a 320 lb lineman isn't neccesarily a run blocker. All tall QBs don't play the same, and all light LBs aren't quick
4. Judging accuracy based on completion percentage. If you don't know why this is a problem I won't even bother. This one really bugs me
5. Youtube scouting. But he completed every pass in his highlight video! He looked amazing!
6. Making decisions from one game/play. Blew my mind how many people said "I don't want Gabbert anymore" after he threw 1 stupid pick. You don't want a QB who ever threw a pick? Good luck.

Great post
I am guilty of the bolded statement... I am not a fan of black QBs, I understand they are physically gifted and can make all the throws but I feel that Most, not all, have issues with decision making.
With that said, McNabb, warren moon, and Michael Vick are exceptions to my theory.

Great post man! Almost as funny as the "So I was breaking down the film...." thread from I think last year in the War Room.
In all seriousness though, I'm guilty of #5 the most. But that's mostly because i don't have time to watch a ton of college football and I don't have access to game film so I have to do a lot of analysis based off of youtube videos, scouting reports, game write ups, stats etc. But I actually find you can find out a fair bit in youtube highlight videos. You can still get a good sense about a QB's release, pocket awareness and mobility, ball placement, footwork etc. If the highlights aren't all that impressive you can sure as hell know that this guy isn't very good in these areas.

And racist. Or at least associating bad decision making with skin color.

I'll handle it.
When a guy transforms into CheckDown Charlie, as Alex Smith does every game, his completion percentage is obviously going to go up.

Guess he hasn't seen Alex Smith play the last few years.

It's only racist when it's bad. I happen to think all asian folks are smart, which obviously isn't true, but nobody complains when I say it.

I'm not necessarily racist or ignorant because I feel that way... reason being I will also admit that I would heavily favor black players at almost every other position.
Look at the greats from the last 20 years from each position and you'll see that black athletes are much superior at almost every position except, K, OL, and QB.
Its just a notion I have... I was also quick to admit this season that Troy Smith did well and proved my theory slightly wrong... I wouldn't be opposed to Troy being the starter until our rookie is ready. But I would also much prefer to get Kyle Orton or Kolb if it only cost us a 2nd or 3rd.
I just like to keep it real
People need to grow up and not get so sensitive about race... I'm irish and everybody mentions how my people are drunks... you dont see us(the irish) pulling any race card

While we are whining about things, I'll educate the board. Ok for the ignorant webzoners. Racism is saying a player is superior based solely on his race. Example, Black Rbs are better than white Rbs or Black Qbs are inferior to white quarterbacks based on race. What you are discussing is stereotyping. Example, All white rbs are slow. All Asians are smart. Let's at least understand the difference. Racism has no place in the world. Stereotyping is rude but it is not racism.
