Has anyone watched this kid?
Steven Friday, DE/OLB, Virginia Tech
Height: 6-4. Weight: 252.
Projected 40 Time: 4.66.
Projected Round (2011): 3-4
10/8/10: Friday is a little bit of a sleeper. He has a terrific burst off the edge and nice speed, and shows the ability to dip and rip. He can drop in coverage and shows good range. Friday has 21 tackles, 7.5 TFL, four sacks and two forced fumbles on the year.

I think it's pretty likely that the Niners go CB, QB this year (or vice versa). I do agree that they need some OLB pass rush help. Who know's how rankings will actually play out until after the predraft hype machine gets started.
Is this kid any good? Will he be available after RD 2?

Friday is more of a 5th round or later guy. Athletic, but not as productive or as polished as you would want for a guy with his size and speed combo. (See Henry Melton).
Good players who should be available in the third and later include:
Bruce Miller, UCF
Mason Foster, Washington
Brooks Reed, Arizona
Wayne Daniels, TCU
Sam Acho, Texas
and Greg Romeus, Pitt -- although depending on his weigh in, he may be deemed to be oversized.
