If a team wanted to go with the big, fast and athletically gifted QB who needs time to develop, they should consider Pryor over Newton. Newton will unfortunately be a top 10-20 pick and will likely be rushed way before he's ready, whereas Pryor (as a 2nd/3rd rounder) can ease into a starting position over time, and without the pressure/hype of being an early 1st rounder.
Taking Pryor also gives teams the option of using that 1st rounder on other critical areas (pass rush, DBs, offensive playmakers, etc.).
1.) Hire an offensive-minded coach
2.) Sign/trade for a veteran QB
3.) Use your 1st rounder on someone like Robert Quinn, Prince, Kerrigan, etc.
4.) Use the 2nd/3rd rounder on Pryor; develop him over time
I like Pryor a lot. In the 2nd or 3rd round would be fine. He's a fantastic athlete. His arm is a little underrated. It's a huge transition for him but he has the atleticism to make it work.

Something that Pryor has going for him is that he's taken snaps behind center. Really like Cam Newton but Pryor wouldn't be a bad option in the 2nd (doubt he makes it to the 3rd)

All 4 of the the upperclassmen will go pro. If they really sold all of that to "help their families" they will jump at the chance to make millions. If they sat out half of the year, Pryor might not even be starting QB, Posey would fall to 3rd on the dc and Herron wouldn't start either. that OT would be lucky to be starting as well. That freshmen who got 1 game is lucky.
Proy and Posey will actually affect the draft, Herron -- not so much. Pryor would arguably become the 3rd or 4th best QB in the draft and Posey is already rated as a 2nd round pick and teams might like him more the Blackmon because there is more film of him and consistency.

There is ZERO chance of Terrelle Pryor going anywhere other than Round 1. Get real follks to all the posters suggesting otherwise.
Matt Jones, a poor Arkansas QB, was 6'6 and ran a 4.3 40-yard dash and was a first round pick (at WR a position he didn't even play) Jones was nowhere near the QB or athlete Pryor is.
With his size, speed, playmaking ability, and experience as a passer Pryor will be a top 15 pick if he comes out. It's not like he's been operating out of the spread at OSU he's been a pro style drop back passer. If anything, coaches at OSU have reigned in his athleticism and forced him to drop back and read defenses which has helped him grow as a QB. I would be stoked if he declared, it would give one more great QB option for our draft.

If there's one thing I can be sure of when it comes to the draft, is that NOBODY can be sure of anything. Point being, I wouldn't be shocked if it happened (Pryor in the 1st), but to say there's ZERO chance that it won't, is silly.

Good point, but from what I know of following the NFL draft and I'd be glad to revisit this I would be shocked to see him not go in the 1st. True that I did perhaps overstate it.

No worries. I'm saying 2nd right now because there has yet to be a full evaluation of him (being a junior who was widely believed to be returning), but with his skills/potential, he could definitely move into the 1st.

It's a bs rule. Players can be given items which have monetary value from their NCAA institution but cannot exchange these items for their said value? Why is it legal for OSU to be giving their players these items to begin with? And if it is, why can't the players do what they choose with what is legally their property?

They can....once they graduate. They are given those things because they are an honor to receive. You dont receive a Super Bowl ring with the intention that one day you will sell it.

Pryor is a terrible prospect. He's basically becoming Jamarcus Russell two years earlier before Jamarcus became Jamarcus.
