I like it but i think Jon Gruden should be our coach and push Alex Smith to be an elite quarterback and Wade Phillips should be the DC. Stay in the 3-4 defense. Noel Devine will be good and provide speed and elusiveness. Should consider a receiving type fullback maybe Stanley Havili, but I like the picks. Maybe reach for Peterson and move Clements to safety.

Not just that, but Dwight Clark wore 87 and it is retired, as well as Jimmie Johnson and 37. Dude calls himself oldman9er's and he didn't know that? I don't mean to nit-pick I just thought it kinda weird.

No, that's fine. This was brought to my attention before, but it's not worth going back to fix. I was in a hurry towards the end there, and didn't consider retired numbers... no big deal, but I'm not surprised that such a thing would get ripped apart by critics.

I would like to see Gruden in SF also, but I think Billick would be the guy brought in after Gruden goes elsewhere. I'd plan on running more Spread formations, so I put a low premium on FBs. I would want SF to run quite a bit out of this formation....
I'd just leave Clements at LCB for another year. If used properly, Nate can still offer what we need over there.

One name to consider for a later-round pick: Dane Sanzenbacher of Ohio State. He reminds me of the Jordan SHipley, Austin Collie type of receivers: quick, bright, and dependable.

I like it, it would be awesome if most of this fell into place. Only thing, Stanzi can't wear 12 . But in all seriousness, good job

Yes yes, Gruden will make Alex Smith "elite". Then Wade Philips will make Lawson a dominant pass rusher, and some other magic man will come here and make Terrell Brown the next Charles Woodson. I can see it now. Not sure what's less believable, people still thinking that Alex could be legit, or Gruden being the man who fixes our QB woes. Look at Gruden's QB history, then get back to me.

Look what Norv Turner did to Alex in 2006 and Jon Gruden could do it to him in 2011. Alex Smith had a tough career after he got drafted, but he improved and should be much better with an offensive-minded head coach that understands the quarterback position.

The idea that Gruden understands the QB position is based on what?
