But you cant put too much weight on these sites as they are far from accurate most the time. Although, I do think Stanzi is vastly overrated on this board. But we shall see how he does in the coming weeks with the Senior bowl and combine coming up. I would love to see how he compares to Locker, Dalton, and Ponder during senior bowl week. Should be a fun week.

I wouldn't believe any Mock Draft or Ranking just yet, players will always raise or lower their stock with the Senior Bowl and Combine.

But I think draft sites are being careful not to overrate Stanzi, IMO it has to do with arm strength. Sure he doesn't have the strongest arm in the draft, but he doesn't have the weakest one either.

how come Kiper and McShay always get things wrong? Because they suck, duh.

Not to mention he is the 2nd ranked senior qb by kiper right now.
Just a couple of articles I found...

"(Ricky) Stanzi's a young Tom Brady to me. He's got the size. He's got the same kind of mechanics. He's very efficient. He doesn't make bad choices, and he takes what the defense gives him and that's it." -- An opposing Big Ten assistant coach.

Here's an interesting read on his game preparation. Also interesting are the critical comments from Iowa fans below.

I love what I see in those highlights, but it's clear the kid's got a ways to go. But I still think throwing the ball away and clock management are learnable skills. The kid's definitely got the right attitude for an NFL QB, which can so often be a crapshoot with prospects.

A couple things that would worry me:
He really dropped off and became pedestrian over the last 4 games this year. What the hell happened?

I'm all for America, but would this red-blooded midwesterner be able to play for San Francisco without alienating a large portion of the fan-base?

Gona hitch a ride with Andy Dalton

I think if he played well for the 49ers the fans couldn't care less.

I only watched one of his games, but he threw a couple ducks. Is that a regular thing for him?

I didn't care when I initially thought he was a rah-rah-America Patriot kind of guy, but I'd be lying if I said he hasn't lost his luster now that I know he's an ignorant Nationalist tool.

Let him do his thing... political views should have no impact on the type of QB we select.

Oh, I don't have a problem with Stanzi's politics. I have a problem with his idiocy.

The kid has skills and potential, there's no disputing that. But considering his seriously retarded dislike for "hippies" I doubt he would even WANT to be drafted by the 49ers and, you know, live in the most liberal city in America.

That said, if he comes here and grows up a little I'll welcome him with open arms.

he'll most likely be living in the south bay like 99% of the 49ers, not in the city
