The "BUT WE COULD HAVE HAD..." after-the-fact game is a waste of time. Every fan base plays it. It's stupid.

So What! With a crap HC, crap game plan and second tier QB - who is going to get him the ball. If we had quality at all the things I just mentioned Crabs would shine. Look how Harvin played yesterday. Right game plan for his talents and right QB to get him the ball.

should niners have taken dez bryant rather davis or iupati?
Dez Bryant looks phenomenal. He's a spectacular athlete and an electric player. It's too early to grade him out as he is young. But I feel many teams will kick themselves for not picking him. And BTW he's much better than Crabtree who is a slow possession WR who will NEVER compare to Dez Bryant.
Dez Bryant has Jason Witten, Roy Williams, and Miles Austin drawing attention away from him.
Crabtree does his work against opposing team's number one corner Bryant's doing his thing against nickel corners.
Crabtree DOES NOT have the speed or explosiveness of Dez Bryant. First of all you would NEVER put Crabtree back to return kicks because he's not explosive enough. And if you did he would never bring it back to the house like Bryant. Dez Bryant is the superior athlete all the way around. Bigger, faster, stronger, more exlosive, more instinctive, more energy and less DIVA.
Frankly I don't care if Crabtree isn't a punt returner. How many elite receivers do you see returning punts? Jackson, Welker, Harvin and that's it.
As a receiver wake me up when the guy does something other than taking a screen pass to the end zone. That's alot easier to do when teams actually respect your surroundings. See Welker and Moss.
Less Diva, LOL. You clearly don't pay attention to the guy. He's no different than Crabtree in that department.
Bryant has more speed and explosiveness for sure. Not that there isn't a place for a Crabtree type of player. But Crabs will always be a slower possession type WR lacking explosion and speed.
I don't see how you figure Bryant is stronger than Crab's, I'm not even sure you watched either of these guys in college if you feel you can just say that...
Bryant = Run away from you with speed
Crab's = Breaks of tackles and runs while you are on the ground
also instincts? out of your mind...if Crab's had the speed of Dez Bryant he would be doing to the NFL what he did to college teams..
I'll take Crab's route running, strength and HANDS over Dez any day...and he's only going to get better.
But he doesn't have the speed of Dez Bryant you see...
Who cares?
in the last 13 years there have been 3 receivers who have come out possessing just about all of the measurable's you could ask for..
..Randy Moss
..Larry Fitzgerald
..Calvin Johnson
Is there a reason Andre Johnson isn't on this list? He's the best receiver in the NFL.

I think they should have taken Orakpo. Dude is a monster and unblockable in the 4-3 or 3-4.
I think Bryant is more explosive and a harder worker than Crabtree, and will be a better wr. But it's not like we drafted Crabtree over Bryant. what needs to be asked is why they drafted him over Maclin? Who is killing for the Eagles and he has that speed which Crabtree doesn't have and it makes a huge difference. I think Crabtree will be a solid WR but not the big play or change the game type of WR. We have yet to see what Crabtree can do with a full off season of work and getting a relationship with a qb.

Maclin, Harvin, Britt, Nicks that was a talented receiver class. DHB looks like the only bust amongst them. One thing I'd note with the exception of Britt Maclin, Harvin, Nicks all have a superior supporting cast. They have other receivers drawing attention away from them and they have very good quarterbacks.
Crabtree hasn't looked special like those 4 players have showed but the guy is being handcuffed to a pedestrian offense. I'm still fine with the Crabtree pick. He's at least shown that he can be a high end possession receiver.

No, the o-line was the biggest issue, not WR. What would be the point of having both Dez and Crabtree when we have no o-line, qb, or competent coaching staff for who knows how many years? We can't even use Crabtree enough at the moment. Iupatti was a good and needed pick. The only question is whether Anthony Davis will turn out alright.

Bryant is playing in the shadows of austin and williams and they have witten in there too. Crabs is the only one of our receivers you have to cover. morgan doesnt scare anyone and ginn cant catch. our QB rarely has enough time to let the receivers get open and when they do get open hes usually rushed and cant lead them. u dont get YAC when u catch the ball behind u or after u stop ur route. crabs would be doing just as good as bryant as a receiver if he was on that team, if not better, i dont see bryant being as shifty as crabtree. how many times this year have we seen crabtree lined up with a defender or two at almost a dead stop and breaks their ankles and gains a few more yards. thats from a stop, imagine if he would get the ball in stride. crabtree will be deadly once we get the rest of this offense straightened out.

The only route they have crabtree run is that comeback, plus Dez Bryant seems like he is injury prone so we'll have to see how he does as the year continues.

The crabtree- bryant comparisons are stupid. Two different draft classes.

^We could have Walsh gave us the inside tip on Brady! We suck so bad at drafting, we always draft a higher pick when the lower pick is actually better or simply not forcing thhe need and waiting the next year for the position! Thank goodness they got 1 right with Willis.
