Prospect Watch: 10/9

Fellas, we're getting close to the halfway point of the season and emerging stars have begun to show themselves. This week, I don't have many match-ups for you to track. Here's a quick look at the prospects from a few games that I'll be keep an eye on this week.

FB Owen Marecic, 6-1 245 4.78
WR Ryan Whalen, 6-1 207 4.56
Some quick notes.

(Remember, Mitch Mustain is not playing, but I include him only because of the fact that even as a backup, he'll probably get attention as a 7th rounder or UDFA, a la Matt Cassel).

* DT Marcell Dareus having a pretty good day making some "stuffs" out there. But Alabama looks like they're about to be knocked off by #19 South Carolina.

* Mark Ingram very quiet today. South Carolina has done well in shutting him down and forcing Alabama to throw.
Hey OTC, What do think of South Carolina's (WR) Alshon Jeffery? I suggest that we take him, man. The kid has alot of talent, I remembered SC's game against Auburn last week & he was torching the Tigers, just like today against the Crimson Tide.
OTC, if u got too much time in the near future, plz report the jersey numbers, too ;) thanks a lot.
quick side note, Saunders was kicked off the team a few weeks ago.

hasnt found a new team yet?
2 pt win for Oregon State, over 9th ranked Arizona.

Gamecocks with a uupset against 1st ranked Alabama.

And florida down 5 driving
from now on i hate stanford, and i hate every dump player who comes up with an useless personal foul.

Yes, he was. He was added on the prospect list because he is still a prospect, even though he is not playing. Saunders has 2nd round talent, but character concerns figure to drop him to at least the 6th round at this point.

I really, really like Alshon. He is immensely talented -- a smooth runner, tall (red zone threat), excellent hands (sensational one handed grab today while the beaten corner had his other arm held and locked underneath him). One can't be sure if he'll enter next year, as he's only a sophomore, but he's certainly a player to take a look at.

I don't know why the magazines are, but I specifically state in my second post why I have him in there.

To be honest though I haven't seen him play, and I didn't think he even played either. Maybe hes got the Matt Cassel potential.
