haha seriously, I sometimes get the feeling that not many on this board actually played football, or if they did they were more sideline spectators in uniform.
Even hearing that expression from coaches before, I always get a really explicit image in my head.

LOL, i think some posters like to pretend that they have played football by calling out people who dont know whata the term ate his lunch means.
Just because you dont know what ate his lunch means doesnt mean you dont know football or that you never played

I predict that Nate Byham will be a more valuable pick-up than people think. Byham was one of the best blocking TE's in draft. I think the niners would prefer to have a blocking TE (two TE set) rather than a FB, since the TE gives them more balance (able to pass or run)

oh and fyi, i backed up Clayton Richard, of the Padres, at QB in hs, and was set to play for Coach McElroy at Saddleback CC til i got in legal trouble. Colt Brennan was his QB at the time.

no, it just means you live under a rock... it's a VERY common phrase... and EXTREMELY common amongst football coaches (along with other innuendo like hitting the a-hole, and ripping through the tight end)
My D-Coordinator from college to me (a linebacker):
"It's prom night and she's tipsy on Malibu rum, what do you do? You hit the motherf%ing A-hole!"

At least he didn't eat JaMarcus Russell's lunch, or else Russell actually might have actually put some effort into something for once.
