Joe Nedney kicks off to Golden Tate and WHAT THE HELL? Talyor Mays absolutely kills him and ends his career.

Mays is like Bowman, in that some people have certain expectations for the type of player they should be at SS or TED.
But Baalke has said that we are using our "TED" differently, and I'm sure we can find a place to use Mays to run around the field causing havoc.
He is certainly motivated, he is not an idiot, and his upside is worth the risk.

He has great range for a safety and can cover more ground than Michael Lewis any day. I really like the pick as the 49ers now have two safeties that are interchangable in Goldson and Mays. When those two start together, I think the 49ers will have a very versatile defense.
I think we've found a new slogan....picture a giant billboard off of 101 showing Goldson and Mays back to back as it reads, "Goldon (May) Showers." "Come get some."

I'm tryin' to like this selection, but I can't till I'm convinced he can play SS. Yes, you can't teach 4.3 speed, but you can't teach quickness and change of direction either. I would have loved dropping down 10-15 spots and grabbing Morgan Burnett. That would have been perfect. Morgan can hit ppl in the mouth and is a ball-hawk safety that we need. Oh well, I really hope Mays proves me wrong and become an excellent safety at the pro-level. He has the talent, but I really think he needs to drop 10-12lbs to gain some quickness and lateral movement. Right now, I see him as a Roy Williams with speed clone. Without quickness, a DB will get burned time and time again no matter how fast he is.

I wanted to trade up a couple of spots for Nate Allen or just take Mt. Cody at #49. That being said, I'm pulling for him and I like how he's anti-Pete Carroll now.
