You can see him just barely outrunning the kicker to the end zone on a couple of his returns. Seems like he's got great vision and acceleration, not much jukes or top end speed though.
Yeah...but every time he seems to end up scoring a touchdown. I think I can live with his speed.

good question, though. We're going to have a REAL competition for KR/PR. It was obviously a position of need and the team is taking no chances that we don't find a real player to fill that need. It seems like they will be willing to keep a guy just for that role if he earns it. Thats smart, IMO. No reason to treat returners like a second-rate part of the team.

Same here. He has the acceleration and the vision, not sure about his top speed or his size but he certainly has the pedigree. More TDs than any PR/KR in NCAA history is impressive. Plus, he's a niner fan!

hell yeah! I'm man crushing on this kid right now. He's got a fight to make the team, but we've clearly signaled that we'll not take any chances with the return game; we're going to put a difference maker back there. I won't be surprised if we keep a guy on the team JUST for that purpose, if he's good enough. That's what Vann's got to prove.
