Ya I liked his passion. That guy deserved it, talking trash to him after a tough loss, Gore might do the same thing

There's not gonna be any room on the roster for a pure specialist, and unless he turns out to be way better than Ginn or Williams as a returner, he's not making it. Doesn't look particularly fast on his highlights and he timed like ~4.6 in the 40.

Dude practically flies in his highlights

You can see him just barely outrunning the kicker to the end zone on a couple of his returns. Seems like he's got great vision and acceleration, not much jukes or top end speed though.

Don't be picky, he's a HOF compared to last year. I'm thinking Arenas light

Ya you right, I'm being too negative on this guy, he got some real skill. I just don't see how he makes the team though, unless he got something to contribute as DB.

I'm a little curious as to why we picked Adams and took our chances with Vann falling. Guess the gamble paid off. And I'm elated.

Is it really that big a pickup?

Vann is very Hester-like. To me, never having see Battle or Jones on a return ever again make it that big of a pickup.

Black Colleges don't get the press or respect that main-stream Colleges do - hence the drop to 7th and free agent.
Kory Sheets 2.0?

(at least in terms of webzone love)

Likely

Is his size a concern?

dunno, he is quite tiny. Probably won't be lining up against Larry Fitzgerald anytime soon.

Vann as PR, Ginn as KR/Slot receiver?

Do we think Ginn's got the balls to go across the middle and make tough catches and take the hits? I think he's gonna be our stretch the field guy with Morgan in the slot when Ginn is on the field.

What do you think of Williams? I know he was brought in to help on special teams and slot receiver.

03/30/2010 - PRO DAY RESULTS: San Fancisco head coach Mike Singletary and quarterback coach Mike Johnson were both on hand at the Rattlers' pro day on March 18th. The other noteworthy player among the 14 prospects that participated was KR LeRoy Vann. Vann (5-8 3/8, 177) ran 4.59 and 4.62 in the 40, had a 35-inch vertical, a 9-10 broad, a 4.26 short shuttle and a 7.27 three-cone drill. Those numbers are not really a true barometer, however, due to the poor field conditions. He also did 16 bench press repetitions at 225 pounds. - Gil Brandt, NFL.com

I like Williams. A great deal of unrealized potential and ability that wasn't really utilized or allowed to be showcased at ASU. This is a guy I pegged as a target of the 49ers in the later rounds, so I'm not shocked at all by the pick.

I like it, and if you think about it, will Hill and Jones possibly both gone either this year or after this season, we're going to need some guys who can step in. So say, Williams has a year of development beneath him, he'll be ready to go in the 3 or 4 spot along with Ginn, adding much needed speed. Plus he's insurance for the return game should Ginn go down, depending on whether or not he and/or Vann make the roster.

Without Hill and Jones, next year, we'd possibly have: Crabtree, Morgan, Ginn, Williams.

Do you think it will be a Williams Vann battle in training camp for a roster spot though maybe? and if so, who do you think wins out?
If we signed Vann how come NFL.com has him going to the Ravens?????Look at the bottom under specialists
