So after the first day...what do you think of the new draft format?

Needs a minor tweak IMHO.

1- Move it to the West Coast.

2- Start it at 7pm on Friday and hold rounds 1 and 2.

3- Saturday can be rounds 3-7 from 11am (or noon) pacific time.

Busy weekend people love it as we really never get to get into it on the weekend because it is soooo long. Also, you don't feel like watching any post draft stuff on the weekend after having spent 4 hours watching it. Now, it's like watching a game and you aren't drafted out enough and can watch the post draft stuff.

The chance for teams to regroup for the second round is awesome and the reason I think why so many trades were done in the first. They were able to 100% concentrate on the 1st round and still have plenty of time to replan for the 2nd. I think you will see better drafting by teams with this format rather than a team scrambling to regroup and then just end up picking the first name off the board.

It would be better if it was Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Also they should have it early April to avoid clashing with the NBA and NHL playoffs.

If we didn't have 2 first round picks i probably would hate it.

I love it, changing from 15 to 10 minutes per pick is awesome and it went WAY faster than it did previously. Although I would have loved seeing the 2nd round play out last night, separating it just adds to the excitement and I can't wait to see how things play out this evening.
