Yeah, Spiller may very well be there guy, really starting to believe that's where he goes off the board.
It may be the case, but I don't get why. It's just like us, why take a position you're already great at with other glaring holes? They play Manning twice a year, they should take a pass rusher or Haden themselves. They really have no one of note on defense, with a defensive HC and when they were good, they had a great defense. Why take a part time player that high?

Why would the Jags draft Spiller so high when they have Maurice Jones Drew?
two headed monster
They have no pass rush whatsoever and I think they'll address that with their first pick especially with the guys available on defense.
They brought in Kampman and have not given up on Harvey, I think they add a pass rusher or 2 in the middle rounds to push the guys ahead of them and earn some snaps in a rotation.
The only true playmaker on offense is MJD and landing Spiller and his playmaking ability they can always have one on the field and this will also help reduce the number of snaps MJD takes, while remaining a run first team.

People keep saying Carroll and Bush and so on, but the teams that won Carroll a championship had great defenses first.
I also think McDaniels goes defense at 11, either McClain or Williams. He'll build the defense and running game first and trust his system on offense to do the rest.
I can see Bryant falling in to the 20s, barring a trade up. The wild card is Buffalo. They need a WR and they could take him and get Colt in the 2nd with a trade for Campbell as a back up plan.
Not necessarily. They could easily get Berry, Spiller, Clausen, etc at 6 and target Brown at 14.

I posted this in the other Marshall thread, but I can see Denver waiting until the 2nd round to find a receiver.
If they weren't going to pay Marshall who has baggage, why would they pay Dez Bryant who also has baggage?
I can see the Denver trading down maybe with Houston. Denver likes Iupati or Pouncey and Houston could leap frog SF to get Haden.

I've got to agree with this - can't see the Jags taking Spiller with so many other huge needs, the biggest glaring one being pass rusher.

Spiller I think will get more touches in Jacksonville (my guess about 15, excluding return duties) than he would with us. MJD's backup is 7th rounder Rashad Jennings who saw very little work as a rookie.
Personally I think they missed the boat by not getting a deal for Marshall done themselves. Garrard and MJD would have been greater benefactors from Marshall's presence than Spiller's.

yea it was so bad they couldn't even get to Alex smith. This draft is pretty deep but I'm pretty sure they'll want to pick the best available.

I think they over ran MJD last year plus they need somebody to take some snaps like Fred Taylor did. Plus they need a play maker on offense and special teams. They would basically be drafting him for the same reason the niners would. Plus they need to sale tickets he would help in that more than another DE. Not sure you can sell your fans another DE after getting Kapman and spending 2 high draft picks on DE's. They may still develop gotta give them a chance, and note write them off after 2 years. They could still go DE I just don't think they will and will take Spiller or Bryant.

Both those running backs are small. I think they could wait around or two and go with a bigger back.

Bryant could go to a LOT of teams before our 17th.
Teams that could take Bryant still: Cleveland (they need a passer, but they need a receiver badly right now), Seattle, Oakland, Buffalo (No Owens anymore), Jackonsville (Sims-Walker the only real receiving threat), Denver, and Tennesse (Britt looks promising, but giving Vince another weapon would be a good idea -- they may deem Bryant BPA there if he makes it to 16).
