No RT in the first, no thanks. Pretty impressive work doing the full three rounds though.

Yeah, but he takes Saffold in the second.

I don't believe he can come in and start from day one though, which is what we have to have or else Snyder is starting, which cannot be an option.

Would rather Akwasi Owusu-Ansah or Jerome Murphy in the 3rd.

Thanks man.
I understand that most HAVE to have that ROT in the first, but if all top four OTs are gone, why would you bypass a top 12 pick to go after a top 32 one in a ROT.
I saw the article Brown VS Davis and respect the author. But not over Thomas. Thomas would seriously be BPA and he would start immediately, IMO. Why? He's a natural FS/CB with incredible range and instincts to take care of stopping "over the top" plays which have been our downfall for some time now. Goldson moves over to SS while both M. Lewis, the concussion man, and R. Smith become solid backups. Finally, some depth!
Again, as a true LOT, Brown and Davis get , but we are looking for that ROT who can be had in the second especially in this scenario.
We agree to disagree, but Earl Thomas is BPA over Charles Brown. I have not seen anywhere where that is not the case.
I just don't think the Niners are going to 'reach' for anyone including our most important need at ROT.

Agghhhhhh
I feel like punching people in the face who see the top 4 OTs go before #13 in people's mock then complain how we didn't take a RT in the first round.
News flash webzoners - after Okung, Williams, Bulaga and Davis there is no OT worth drafting that high. Brown is not a RT and should only be an option if we trade down from one of those picks.
As for the draft itself it's not bad altho I really don't want Spiller in the first. In that situation I'd rather trade down from #13 and look at someone like Kyle Wilson, Pouncey or Jerry Hughes.
But one thing that sticks out to me is if Gilyard is there in the 3rd round I think we have to take him. He's being really underrated by people. He doesn't have perfect hands but he plays fast and is a very good return guy.

I don't see any reason Brown can't come in a win the RT spot in TC. He's a very technically sound tackle who should transition well to RT. I don't see a problem here.

That's why we have Spiller and I understand the against-Spiller arguments and respect them. This was really just a BPA and I had no trades in this scenario.
I concur though. In this scenario, I just don't see anyone wanting to trade into the #13 pick if all the OTs and QBs are gone which they are.
Plus, I finally get to have my frickin' return specialist where the clouds of RS past in Jackson, Maclin, Harvin, etc. have vexed us.

I am putting together a mock where we trade up to grab one of the 4 OTs (around pick 8-10) and then trade down with our 17th pick (people are going to want Matthews and will be willing to move up) to get back the picks we lost to get a OT. When it is all said and done we don't necessarily lose any picks. We merely shift them around in the different rounds. At the same time, we end up with our OT in the first.

If all the OT and QB are gone someone may want to trade up to get a RB or an OLB - DE. I like Rodger Saffold in the second if he makes it.

Yeah, couldn't think of a better draft than that but don't think Safford is there at 49. I would love this draft because we would have our future FS (Goldson to SS), RB/KR/PR, and future ILB to take over for Takeo. That would fill all needs but probably G so then we could pick one of those up in the 4th.

I like your thinking on the first three picks.
I especially like the fact that you're not reaching for an OT in the first. Saffold would be an incredible pick in the second round, 'cept, based upon the press he is getting, it would be a surprise if he were available. Still under your scenario . . . he is.
Do you really think that Spikes is the complete package at ILB? Might we not take a shot at a pass rushing OLB? Otherwise Butler (still available under your scenario) over Spikes . . . he can play both inside and out.
Impressive job overall!
