Draft day scenarios which work in our favor

So, in my opinion, the worst thing that could happen to us is if all 4 of the top OT are off the board by 13, so I was thinking of what would be the best things to happen to us by team:

1-4 are basically set in my opinion, I don't think the Lions will pass on Suh for an OT, because there is no Joe Thomas-level OT in this draft, and Suh is just too dominant. Bradford, McCoy and Okung make up the rest of the picks.

5.) Kansas City - Best case scenario is for them to take Berry. I don't want to face Berry in our division twice a year.

6.) Seattle - I believe the most favorable outcome here is them taking CJ Spiller, because I think our defense is able to shut down a scat back type, and it allows other players to fall.

7.) Cleveland - Cleveland is really one of the great unknowns in this draft because they could go so many ways. I can see a trade back for Odrick, taking Haden or McClain. I think best case here is that they reach and take McClain.

8.) Oakland - Of course when you mention Oakland, it's always a wild-card. There's really no telling what they may do, but possibilities include OT, Bryant, JPP, Morgan, or good ol' Al doing something crazy again like picking Taylor Mays. Best case here is Mays or Campbell.

9.) Buffalo - OT is a solid need for them, but they need help at QB, there's no question. I'm not very high on Clausen at all, but I believe it works most to our advantage if they take Clausen here.

10.) Jacksonville - They won't take an OT, but a trade down is a huge possibility for them if a lot of OT are on the board since a team may want to leap-frog SF, and they'd get an extra pick to waste on Tebow to bring fans in. I think they go secondary here, and best case is they stay put and take Haden.

11.) Denver - Another team which could go in many ways, but in the end, I think best case for us is if they take Bryant.

12.) Miami - Again, a team which won't take an OT, but they need help on defense. As much as I would love him, I can't see them doing anything except taking Dan Williams.

This leaves us our choice of OT for number 13, and BPA at 17, which could any any one of Thomas, Morgan, Graham, Iupati or a trade down. What do you guys think?

Shhh, you'll jinx it! Yeah, I know every team doing something that would more favorable to us is slightly unrealistic, but stranger things have happened. The draft always has surprises every year, and half the fun is trying to predict some of those unknowns.
Well, that would sure be awesome.

On a somewhat related note, I have a strong gut feeling the Raiders are going to take Dez over an OT. I think Al tries to make up for the disastrous DHB pick.
I actually don't think our defense would do well against Spiller so I hope he is the one player Seattle doesn't take. Our defense always has trouble defending speed.

I think you may very well be right. If Davis doesn't make an off the wall pick like Mays or Campbell, I have a strong suspicion that he may go with Bryant because of all the criticism he took for not taking Crabtree last year. Plus, Davis just wants to give Russell weapons because he somehow still believes in him. Man, the Raiders are such a joke ...

I think I'm almost more excited to see what kind of disastrous pick the Raiders are going to make than to see who the Niners pick.

THe niners have two of the slower safties in the league and thier CB are not sprinters..so who is going to catch Spller now??? Yea right..you fooling yourself my friend.

Nobody knows how a player will truly turn out. It depends on a lot of factors. If Spiller went to Seattle, but if the hawks don't repair the line he won't do so good.

Against the Vikings Adrian Peterson the niners have done fairly well against him. I think he is a better back than Spiller who is unproven and would not have the same quality surrounding cast.

Anyway, I doubt Seattle will pass up on re repairing the line if they are smart. Else Hasselhorf (pun intended) will get hurt again and their chances fly out the window again.

If they don't pick an OT I would imagine it being Berry if he is still there.

Neither will Beffalo pass up a OT, then again....

The only one would be Raiders, I am hoping Davis is tired of being labeled a doofus with his high picks (Jamarcus,DHB, and the RB from Arkansas-whats his name), that he-ll trad the pick to us for cheap-second this year and next year's first. Then pick up the OT and trade the 13th pick back far enough to regain a second. Then trade our #17 and 4th and 5th round to jump over titans if either Thomas or Haden is available (as it is reported they are looking for a DB). Then pick BPA with the last 1st rounder-DT or DE, then with the 2nd rounder OG, 3rd-return specialist that also fills a need in the RB DB or WR.

This is a dream probably but I think is a lot easier to bend the universe cause only one team is requierd and with their owner isn't as a fetched as it seems

Seattle wouldn't take Spiller here because I think he'll be on the board at #14, I think Seattle thinks so too. I expect them to take either WIlliams, Bulaga or Davis.. WIth Walter Jones retiring, and the rest of their OL in shambles, they can't afford to take Spiller.

More mock drafts nowadays are putting Spiller at 6th to Seattle. The fear is that if they don't grab him, SF might, or someone will trade up to get him. The first RB always tends to go higher than expected, just look at Moreno last year.

No, he's right. We have a top 10 run stopping defense and the best middle linebacker in the game. Clements is awesome up front as well. He just happened to be injured last season. It's not really about CB speed as much as your OLB's sealing the edge and Manny is pretty great at that.

This is really a good post. Well thought out. I doubt it happens. haha
