NFL.com is running an article that Mike Singletary and quarterback coach Mike Johnson were scouting Florida A&M QB Curtis Pulley, but I think Sing was really checking out KR Leroy Vann. This guy has mad skills.

So what? The man can play. Plus, the great kick returners are not know to be huge guys.

I'm reading that he doesn't have much of a chance to be a true NFL corner, but he is definitely interesting as a KR/special teams guy.
He had 11 returns the last to years!
What round do you predict he might be worth taking at?

why is it a smoke screen it was there looking at both players who puts on a smoke screen for a guy that's more than likely a 6th rounder

you mean having 6'2 230 exQB return kicks is not a good Idea....get out of here with that nonsense....I would trust the 49er Coaching Staff before someone who posts in 9er Talk.

It the draft falls a particular way, we may need to take Vann as high as the 4th. The way premiums have been put on return specialists these days, Vann has some inflationary value.

Why not play it safe and draft him in the 6th or 7th... Its not like we are gonna get any starters from there anyways.

Yeah, that's too big of a target on KR. 5'9'' 177 isn't huge, sure. But you can't catch what you can't see. He'd be a great late round pick up or UDFA.

he does cook but his 40 was somewhere in the 4.5's even on better turf still 4.5's most likely. But he does have a knack for returning so i would say take him in the 5th or higher. The return game cost us at least 2 games (Texans and SEA) so spending even a 4th on him wouldn't be all that bad if it improves us 1 to 2 games a year and helps us EVERY GAME

Damn good point. Field position on KR and punts has been a huge issue . With a decent return man the Niners could've won a couple more games last season.
