We are not trading our 2011 1st rounder to New England no less...
Love it, except for trading our 1st rounder next year for a 2nd rounder this year, that just doesn't make sense to me.
Hate any mock that gives up next years one, let alone next years one for a 2nd. Iupati at guard for the next decade? If we draft him I hope we leave him at guard and don't try to turn him into a project at RT.

Giving up next year's first

They would have 3 first rounders if we did that. 
I would normally agree that trading a future first is a bad idea. But by all accounts this is a loaded draft and as many as 20 juniors will go in the first round. This tells me that there will be some excellent Seniors (like Nate Allen) who are first round quality and are worth spending future #1.
It's such a deep safety class I don't see the need to mortgage the future just to grab Nate Allen.
Nice I've been wanting to see a mock with a run on tackles, I'm cool with taking Spiller in that case.

and do you see Iupati starting right away or Baas becoming backup?

I think if Iupati couldn't unseat Baas it would be a major disappointment. Baas is just around for insurance/depth at this point.

I doubt some of those tackles will go that early. Williams can't be an LT and the Seahawks need to replace Jones.

No way I'd give up a #1 next year for a #2 now.

Lupati is a guard. I think the combines have shown that that's his position.

Yeah . . . I'd expect him to be a left guard

Agree
I would be one unhappy Niner fan if we deal our first next year for a 2nd this year. That is just dumb in my opinion. I know teams do it from time to time but I just dont think its a smart move.
