I doubt we go for a runningback unless he can return kicks. I don't think they are going to give up on Coffee just after 1 year.
If they do give up on Coffee why not get a vet in here like Bryant Westbrook, Chester Taylor, Willie Parker, or LT?
Speaking of big runningbacks how about Anthony Dixon out of Mississippi St? Dude is a beast.

He's also got a mean right hook, LOL. I'd take him in the 4th if we haven't drafted a RB by then.

Yeah, he KO'd a lineman with a jab. That's power. Plus, Vernon need someone to spar with in training camp.

If we are drafting a RB, he will be a very versatile speed/quick back who WILL be our return specialist.
We already have two thumpers. That is why the "size" argument will not apply to Spiller. If he's at the top of their board come #13 or #17, he will be a Niner.
Right now though, it is up in the air in between that 6-18 range. The fluctuation could be dramatic depending on the outcome of the ALL the events at the Combine, from measurements, interviews and the drills.
Already, Iupati and Campbell have moved closer to the mid 1st just with their measurements. You know both of these cats will probably do better than the other OT prospects in drills. The interview process will separate the potentials even more.

I'm staying away from T. Williams for this simple reason. He has Parker as his agent and he comes up today and says he's a LT when he will be drafted to play RT if the 49ers draft him. So guess who is going to hold out for "LT type money" even though he's would be playing RT. Danger Will Robinson, DANGER!!
Players drafted outside the top 10 rarely have contract problems unless its a QB who slides far. I wouldnt worry one bit about his agent
I understand, its just that Parker has held out in the first like 17 of his last 18 clients reguardless of position. Look, I know Parker got punked by the 49ers brass this last offseason, but it still took 5 weeks into the season for them to do it. We'll see.
