MadDog's Early Big 100 Board

MD and others, I've seen Spiller around our pick and I think thats right around the correct range for him. I'd love the Niners to come away with him and an OT. However, is anyone really convinced that they'll take him. To me and others it makes complete sense to find an all world change of pace (not used as a detriment) back, but does anyone really think our management has the gusto--ie the balls--to make such a bold move? I think it makes complete sense because Gore is guaranteed to be nicked up pretty much every year and not only that Spiller is likely to be the BPA at that point in time. I just don't think our management would take him. I also haven't heard much talk of the Texas safety Earl Thomas around that area. IMO in terms of what we need he is superior to Mays. Thoughts?

MD and others, what are your thoughts about Jahvid Best?

I like him a lot, but the one thing that might scare people/teams off is his concussions in college.

I have him pegged late 1st, early 2nd rd area.

With a great 40 time at the combine, I can see a team like San Diego (LT's replacement) or New Orleans (if they decide to let Bush walk) drafting Best in the late 1st. If neither of those teams draft Best in the 1st, he could easily fall to the middle of the 2nd round.

not just concussions but injuries in general. it's difficult to see him being able to hold up with anything more that 10 touches per game... he just hasnt done it in his collegiate career.
I like Darrell Stuckey the safety from Kentucky. Anyone know if he is a FS or a SS ? He had 5 INT's this past season, seems like he has a nose for the ball.
I pray we dont get CJ Spiller...dont get me wrong, kid is straight NASTY but realistically, we don't need to spend a first round pick on a guy we'd probably use primarily as a return specialist...hes a dynamic player who deserves playing time on the field but with the way we play and seeing how I'd imagine that we'd try to become a bit more of that hard nosed smash mouth running football team Sing wants next season, I just don't WANT to see CJ Spiller come here and us not use him to his full potential...

I have a feeling Sing and Scotty aren't even looking to upgrade the RB position at all this offseason. I bet they stick with Coffee and try to develop him into a solid RB.

Anyone know if Reggie Bush would be a RFA or UFA if he's released this offseason ?

I just don't see Reggie Bush going to another team. He is not a #1 Running back, and he has many limitations to his game that would be exposed if he left Sean Payton/Drew Brees.

Maddog

What do you think about Brandon Sharpe? I noticed he isn't in your top 100 but seems like he is good at defending the run and has a great speed rush.

If you are released and once you clear waivers you are an UFA. The reason he'd go to another team is because he's got a bonus about to kick into his contract and his level of play does not merit him making that much money, thus making him a candidate to be cut. It's no secret that Sean Payton has been frustrated with him. I don't think he's all that by any means, but that doesn't exclude him from being able to return kicks and punts.
MD, do you see the PR/KR in 2010 coming from the early parts of the draft or from a sleeper towards the end and from what position? Do you think it's a shoe-in they are drafting one and not via free agency?

CB, WR, RB?

agreed, he has to have a full clean bill of health IMO for anyteam to target him high, atleast thats my feeling.

I don't know much about Best but I know a lot of people thought the same about Frank Gore coming out of Miami after major injuries to both knees. Just a thought.
