Any ideas on who we could get in the draft?

I think Leon Washington is a free agent next year, he'd be a good pickup.
I'd rather get a proven guy who can return kicks than waste a draft pick on someone who MIGHT work out.

I think you'd be pleased with who I think we could address that issue with. I've been putting some rough lists together lately, though I'm holding off on presenting any mocks until mid-November, but I have a player in mind.
Who? Well, I'll go ahead and spoil the surprise.
CB Javier Arenas. Not only would he fill a crucial need at returner, he would add CB depth, which we will absolutely need with the likely FA departures of Walt Harris, Dre Bly, and others such as Marcus Hudson and with question marks among developing guys like oft-injured Tarell Brown.

Dang OTC, I just saw this cat on Walterfootball.com because I was interested to see if I could find any DBs with return skills as we are full at WR, IMO. And there you go, Javier Arenas came up for me.
Great find...you know, like Nate Davis!!!
PS What is his projection right now...second or third?

Arenas is a 3rd rounder right now. Early Day two guy, with potential to rise to the late 2nd, but I'm not sure he's going to run a fantastic 40 time. His game speed is far faster than his timed speed.

Yep - Trindan Holliday... I've had him in my mock since last year.

I was hoping to find a good corner for depth, but great at returning kicks.

It's the best option and helps us doubly.
Shipley would be nice -- but our WR corps would sure be getting crowded, even assuming Bruce, Spurlock AND Battle go (and it doesn't appear he's going anywhere anytime soon), that would leave Morgan, Crabtree, Jones, and Hill ahead of Shipley. Shipley's playing time would be minimal. He could be a BPA where we pick, sure, and I wouldn't be too upset, it just might not present the greatest value to us in comparison to a guy like Arenas.
Another individual mentioned Holliday, the track star. UDFA is the realm for him, for sure. I would greatly worry about his ball security in the NFL, but hey as an UDFA, give him a shot and if he succeeds, you didn't even have to spend a draft pick on him.
